Steer clear of this cafe! I got their 19.99 burger and asked for medium. My burger ended up dry and much closer to well done and medium-well if I am being generous. The fries taste like bad frozen fries and the chicken tenders look like they are using old coater and the waffles are gummy. I cannot recommend this place to anybody. Total waste of time and money.

Hometown feel and homemade cooking. The food is very good and the servings are plentiful. They serve a diverse menu for breakfast and lunch. We had the country fried steak with 3 sides and the hamburger steak meal with 3 sides and they were absolutely delicious! Our waitress, Stephanie, was very friendly and served us well. The owner is the cook and what a cook she is!
Sorrento Country Kitchen is the place to go for great vittles. You won’t be disappointed.

If you want to eat really delicious and fresh food, you should come here. The owner of the restaurant is the one who cooks, and her recipes are traditional and authentic. The home fries are the best!☕️

I found this place on google maps and it had a 4.7 rating. So I had some expectations.
We arrived right before 1pm on a Saturday (they close at 3pm). The place was pretty empty, which it kind of made sense since it was after the rush time. I order a loaded bagel and my husband order the Big Daddy Breakfast. My hashbrown was super cold and the chesse looked a little weird. My husband’s buscuit was super wrinkle like it just poped out of the microwave as some pf his other items did. I’m not sure if we just had bad luck and everything was off because it was almost 1pm or if this is the normal state of the food.
The place does have some interesting dishes in the menu, but I’m not sure if I would come back.

Plenty of parking available.
Accesability: No designated parking for handicap. The ramp for the wheelchair was very small. Getting through the door was a struggle: single door entrance, not automated and the door threshhold is pretty high. I needed a push to get over it with my wheelchair. They do have plenty of tables where you can remove the chair and wheel your wheelchair in.
Service was good. Our waitress was nice.

Went to have breakfast on a whim because everything in Mount Dora was packed. Walked in sat down right away. The decor is a little odd and the tables have advertising on them but if you are looking for upscale aesthetics Sorrento isn’t it. The pancakes were huge and delicious cooked well. Nice thick pancakes cooked all the way through. So good. I had the omelet it was good would have been better with a different cheese the American just made it too salty for my taste but it was big and worth the money. Kids portion was hearty. The breakfast burrito was good as well nice size. Overall recommend.

I guess I am still looking for a good breakfast place near Mt. Dora. I will say the place was clean inside, and the food/ prices were fine. The food was just ok. The hamburger tasted fresh, and do did the sausage gravy, however the biscuits did not taste or appear home cooked. To be country cooking, we need to bake our own biscuits. My wife asked for ranch with her crispy fries, it was nothing more than a store bought ranch… Her input there. My biggest concern was the location… Which just looked sketchy at best. The clientele… Was just sketchier. I’m sorry, the parking like is just a mess with crap old location and people thinking they can crank stereo as loud as possible to show off… It was very strange. Based on outdoor looks, I would never have gone in, but my wife saw YouTubers “the altem life” video saying it was ok food. I did not expect much, and have a hard time paying for something I can make at home quicker. Btw, the men’s room stunk worse than the Mt Dora landfill.

This place is a gem! It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. Inside the food was amazing and the service was on point. The portions are HUGE, we all left completely stuffed and skipped lunch. The cook came out and said she makes everything with love which is adorable and the food definitely tastes like it! My daughter forgot her backpack and the staff were kind enough to put it behind the register and keep safe.

Overall the food is good. 4 out of 5. Service is ok. But! While we’re waiting for our food. We saw a guy who looked homeless arrived in a bike. Walked in,and headed straight to the kitchen and came out with food. We literally thought that he was the cook. He literally looked so dirty as if he just finished rolling in mud. Also my daughter found an eyelash on her food. But other then that the food is good.

If you looked at the body of my reviews you would see that I tend to fixate on the positives. Something good at a restaurant. This will be the rare exception.

Being up front, the server was very friendly and nice. However back of house has some issues. We tried to order and the first three choices were not available, no longer offered. Apparently the new owners as of 3 months ago have removed a lot of things but won’t do new menus.

What we did receive as disappointing. The bread on my sandwich was arid and dusty. Just a miserable bite. While the chicken salad inside was interesting, it was lost in the brittle. dryness of the toast. My wife had the chefs salad. While the olives were generous and good, the turkey tasted like the lowest price deli turkey that could be found. If a word had to be given as a description “foamy” came up.

While the server was moving at a hectic pace, with all of 4 tables occupied, it took us nearly 45 minutes to get our food. For a restaurant that caters to the blue collar lunch crowd, that’s unacceptable. People have jobs and have a reasonable need to eat and get back to work. We were literally looking for a $5 bill to leave on the table and walk out when our food came out.

I just cannot recommend any aspect of this restaurant as it currently stands.

Sorrento Country Kitchen did an amazing job serving up great food with great customer service!
Highly recommended! My friend and I tried the butter chicken and it was delicious and came with the best naan bread I have ever had. My husband got the meatloaf and said it was wonderful. My daughter got a chocolate chip pancake and it was bigger than a dinner plate. I am grateful to have this gem so close to home.
