Sophie’s is a mix between a French bistro, a NY Deli, a coffee shop and a pastry shop, serving the Whiteville area since 2010. At Sophie’s, you can find Croque Monsieur as well as a Reuben Sandwich and the best chicken salad you’ve ever tasted, great specialty coffee drinks and freshly baked pastries. It is located in the oldest pharmacy in NC and features a wonderful atmosphere and decor. Private parties and catering are available, and we will deliver as well if we can. Such a precious cafe 5 minutes off the highway! We stopped in to grab coffee and are so glad we did. We ordered an iced mango latte and iced caramel macchiato and both are very good! Staff was friendly and decor was very homey. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a breakfast or lunch spot!

Cute cafe tucked away. Stopped on our way back from the beach. My husband got the roast beef sandwich (pictured) and I got the Berri’s delight veg sandwich (eaten before could be pictured). Fun decor and good food. Would definitely stop again. The cookies and sweet breads were calling my name.

It’s an old-time sandwich shop feel (aqua tables at the booths) with a display of antique toasters and radios and such, as well as comfy sofas and stocked library shelves for those who want to relax with a cup of coffee and a good book.

My partner decided to surprise me with a trip to Sophie’s as a part of my birthday celebration (I love trying quaint, hometown style restaurants). We ordered the Wolfpack and the gyro to eat while there and quiche to take home and try later. Each dish was PHENOMENAL. I was impressed with the flavor and freshness. This hidden gem is a MUST TRY rather you are local, traveling or like me, a foodie chasing all the goodies!
The historical artifacts were quite interesting and gave the place a nostalgic feel, we will surely be visiting again!

First off, the retro atmosphere is A1, I’m amazed. I’ve tried a few different things on the menu and loved everything so far. I highly recommend the Reuben and potato salad! The staff are such a vibe too. I get the pomegranate lemonade damn near every day, and it’s dead ass fire every time . I’m in town for business for a hot minute, and Sophies has quickly become my go-to spot whenever I need to vibe and reset. The WiFi is blazing fast, and the staff has this chill presence, always there when I need them, keeping it smooth, attentive when it counts, quiet when it should be, and always sending me off with a good vibe. That touch makes this spot hit different. 5/5 all around vibe, no doubt. Big ups to the crew, y’all keep this place legendary!

Happy to find this cute little coffee shop on our way to surf city beach. One of the best lattes I’ve had! Also had a sample of their zucchini bread and it was super good! Will definitely stop in here in the future and hopefully try their food! The young man at the register was super nice (loved his accent as well) and the young woman who made our drinks walked the drinks over to me on the other side of the restaurant (I was looking at all the relics) instead of yelling our name across the restaurant. Wonderful service. I can’t wait to visit again!

My family reunion (20 people varies arrival times starting at 8:00 am). met at Sophie’s for breakfast yesterday. The procedure is place order at counter and pay. Then go to your table and wait for your order to be served to you. There was confusion and long wait times for drink/coffee orders. Food took a long time to be served and some members had slightly cold food instead of hot food. Two disappointing occurrences were being served instant oatmeal for their oatmeal (easily could have done in the hotel room) and a family member not receiving the slice of cake ordered when arrived but was sold to other customers who got to go orders instead of eating in the establishment. My veggie burrito was excellent but it was not accompanied by garnish or sauce. Just a burrito on a plate. All in all, the food was good, the decor was interesting, but the restaurant lacked organization and did not prepare all food freshly!!!
