Soosanghan BBQ (수상한꽃돼지) is the kind of Korean BBQ spot that reminds you why Pal Park is dangerous for your cravings. This isn’t all-you-can-eat, so go in expecting fair, well-portioned plates instead of a “roll me out the door” situation—and honestly, that’s part of what makes it feel higher quality. Two orders of pork was plenty for two people, though if you want the “perfect” setup, I’d recommend doing a two-pork combo next time.

The aged pork belly was unreal: beautifully seared on the outside with that smoky, caramelized edge, but still juicy and silky inside. It had so much flavor on its own that you didn’t need to drown it in anything—just a little dip and you’re set. The pork jowl was the other standout: tender, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth in that way that feels almost buttery when it’s cooked just right. Everything hit the grill at the perfect timing, and the service was on point the whole time—attentive.

Thanks Ben!! You really made the first visit memorable!

On the comfort-food side, the steamed egg came out fluffy and warm like a savory cloud, and the kimchi jjigae had that deep, tangy kick with a cozy, stew-y richness that makes you keep going back for “one more spoon.” But the real stars of the show were the sauces: the roe ssamjang and myeolchi-jeot. They added this salty, funky, umami punch that made every bite of meat pop and honestly sets this place apart from other BBQ spots nearby. You could happily eat all the meats with just those two and call it a perfect meal.

Definitely worth coming back—quality meat, excellent cooking, and flavors that stick with you long after you leave.

because they promote aged pork and specialty pork cuts, so I had higher expectations. The interior has a retro vibe with arcade machines, which actually looks pretty fun. The banchan selection was large, but honestly one of the weakest I’ve had. The soy crab tasted like something pre-packaged, and one of the pancake sides was served cold. We ordered a combo with three types of pork and chose the aged option since it was the same price as regular. Each portion came out to over $30, which felt expensive. After trying both, I couldn’t really tell the difference between aged and regular. The meat quality itself was fine, just no noticeable “aged” improvement in flavor or tenderness. We also ordered the ramen fried rice. It took a long time and we had to ask about it. It was served in a Shin Ramyun bucket and then poured out, and visually it looked like leftover rice mixed with over-soaked noodles. The flavor was pretty average. Overall, aside from the atmosphere, the pricing feels high for what you get and the experience was disappointing for the cost.

Had a great experience with friends. In regard to the food: The pork belly was delish and the set was SO generous in portion and reasonable in pricing. Also adding on the steak was the MOVE. The cold noodles were so refreshing and paired well with the fatty pork.

But what really made this dining experience stand out was our server Ben. Shoutout Ben. Cannot say how outstanding and attentive he was. he really made it such an unforgettable meal

Had an amazing experience at Soosanghan BBQ! We ordered the Pork Combo for 2, and the quality of the Aged Pork Belly was outstanding. What surprised us most was the incredible amount of free sides—the Soybean Stew and Steamed Egg came included with the meat.

We also tried the Banban Jokbal (deliciously chewy) and the Small Intestine Jeongol, which was rich and flavorful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Korean BBQ with generous portions and reasonable prices in NJ.

Just had the most phenomenal experience here. I’m so used to going to Korean beef BBQ spots, this is my first time at a pork based spot(they have beef brisket). 6/5, Will definitely return, and bring friends for that matter.

The food is amazing, juicy, tasty, and generous in portions. There was a large amount of side dishes, including rarities like Tteobooki and marinated crab. Few places offer these types of side dishes so it was worth pointing out. They also offer a variety of Korean staples like Military Soup, etc.

But above all, the service is very, very noteworthy. Our server, Ben, was extremely friendly, engaging and God Bless his patience with my non-stop talking machine of a 4 year old son. Our experience with him would make us want to return. Constantly ensuring we had a good experience, he was knowledgeable and kept us laughing, smiling, and he cooked the meat to perfection. Service from Ben was a 6 out of 5.

Overall, it was a great experience. Some places are overwhelmed with smoke, music so loud you can’t think, and staff overwhelmed by the amount of tables. This didn’t happen here and I know the next time I’m in the area this will be high on my list of restaurants to eat at. Thanks Ben for being so caring of my son!!!

A Korean BBQ restaurant that specializes in dry aged pork belly which separates it from a lot of other K-BBQ restaurants.

The 80’s Korean themed restaurant had so many details, everywhere you looked. Upon walking in, you’re greeted by the host surrounded by vintage arcade games, old TVs with a live camcorder (made great photos for cool selfies).

The banchan was slightly different from other banchans I’ve had at other K-BBq restaurants. It included a pickled small crab dish that was delectable. The pork belly was definitely unique! It was full of flavor and because it’s dry-aged, it was able to get a beautiful crust and crisp fairly quickly while still maintaining its juiciness. We had other meats as well which were all very tasty.

Although the pork belly was the star of the show, the dish that stole my heart was the Shin Ramen Fried Rice. It’s not just rice with shin ramen seasonings. It also had crush ramen bits in it! The cheese and seaweed topping sealed the deal! This is as one of the most uniquely delicious dishes I’ve ever had!

The service of the staff was beyond what I could have asked for. They were super accommodating, attentive, and you can tell they were proud of where they worked. Our experience here was absolutely fantastic. The cutest ended was the host showing me a vintage coffee/hot chocolate dispenser. The hot coco was a great way to end the night.

Soosanghan is hands down one of the best Korean BBQ spots in New Jersey.
As a Korean who eats Korean BBQ out quite often, I can confidently say this place is absolutely delicious and worth visiting multiple times. The pork belly is incredible—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The quality of the meat alone is impressive, but what really makes this place stand out is the variety and generosity of the appetizers.
They serve so many classic Korean sides like tteokbokki, corn salad, and pajeon, and they’re very generous with refills. Everything tastes authentic and satisfying, just like back in Korea.
Our server, John, was also amazing—super friendly and attentive, and he grilled the meat perfectly for us, which made the entire dining experience even better.
If you’re looking for authentic Korean BBQ with great service and plenty of delicious side dishes, I highly recommend Soosanghan.

Absolutely must-visit! It was fantastic!

I really appreciated that they offer fresh vegetables I could enjoy with the meat—it’s a rarity these days. Plus, they had a variety of dipping sauces. We opted for the pork combo, which allowed us to pick one of the soups, and we chose Cheonggukjang, which was absolutely amazing. We ended up eating two bowls of rice each. They mentioned they make everything themselves, including the side dishes.

It was quite busy since it was the weekend, but the staff grilled everything perfectly. We finished with cold noodles, and they were incredibly refreshing.

This spot is a fantastic choice for Korean barbecue lovers. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel comfortable right away. The pork belly is full of flavor and cooked perfectly, and the variety of side dishes really adds to the experience. The portions are satisfying and the pricing feels more than fair for the quality and amount of food. Definitely a place worth visiting again.

Holy heavenly pork. My husband and I came for our first visit tonight and thanked the social media algorithm that put this place on our radar. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and the stairwell leading up is so quiet and eerie that we wondered if it might be closed. But as soon as we stepped inside, it was clear that good eats were ahead.

The air inside was thick with the smell of smoke and barbecued meats, and every table was littered with all kinds of side dishes (which come free with meat orders). I was happily surprised by the premium side dishes, like tteokbokki, steamed egg, raw marinated crab, and choice of stew (either kimchi or fermented soybean).

Before long, it was time for meat. As far as the cooking goes, this is a full service meal, with servers prepping the grill, cooking and cutting the meat, and refilling things as needed. I love the taste of Korean barbecue but I don’t love smelling like it for hours later, so we definitely appreciated the retractable exhaust hoods that sucked up most of the smoke. The grill is cleverly tilted to allow most of the rendered fats to drip away, and the servers place finished meats on an offset pan to avoid overcooking. They’ve got meat preparation to an art form here, and the taste of that dry aged pork was outstanding.

Service was fantastic throughout our meal, with servers stopping to prep, cook, or refill things on our table as we noshed our way through the meal. Few things were amiss. We had to ask for the lettuce that comes standard with meats, and we never got our cutlery. But we made out fine with the buckets of disposable cutlery

At the end of the meal, my husband leaned back in his chair, patted his belly contentedly, and declared, “That was the best meal I’ve had in months.”

I couldn’t agree more.
