Delicious food and personable service! My wife and I split 3 breakfast and a chicken quesadilla and everything tasted great!
The potatoes in the potato and chorizo was probably my favorite and the owner, Mauricio, shared with pride his technique in making the potatoes so delicious. We had an early dinner on a weekday so it was slow which gave us the opportunity to get to know Mauricio and his impressive experience with fine dining. We were grateful for his excellent customer service and friendliness. We will definitely come back to try the baked potatoes that he recommended and probably some wings.

My husband and I recently visited Sonterrey Mexican Restaurant, and it was such a great experience from start to finish! I ordered the chilaquiles plate, and my husband had the machacado plate — both were absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. You can really tell the food is made with care and tradition.
The service was warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The owner personally checked on our table, and you can see how proud he is of the food and his restaurant. It’s rare to find a place where the quality, hospitality, and passion all shine through like this.

The owner was incredibly courteous and welcoming. He personally made sure each of our meals was exceptional and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. The food was fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. It honestly felt like being at home with a close family member cooking for us. Such a great experience from start to finish we will definitely be back!

We accidentally found Son de Rey in San Antonio and it turned out to be a hidden gem. It’s very tucked away, so I was a bit skeptical at first, but the near-five-star reviews convinced us to try it—and I’m glad we did.
The owner is also the chef, and he was very welcoming. The food came out quickly, was full of flavor, and the hot sauce was on point. Everything tasted great, especially knowing it’s a one-man operation.

Great authentic Mexican food. The owner was pleasant and truly enjoys his craft. The portions are plenty and the price is reasonable. Tucked away in a strip mall. Google Maps sends you to the wrong strip mall, put in the address from their website for accurate directions.

Came in the day after Christmas and the food was amazing. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re close! The owner was very kind and even helped make our food. You can tell they really care about their customers. We’ll be back.

Wonderful food and owner was real nice. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce and it was great. It was a little hard to find but it was worth looking for it. It’s in the corner of the strip mall by a video game/ crane machine place. My coworker had the tacos and he said they were really good as well.
