The food was very good. I had the Carnitas Chimichanga. Very good and flavorful. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely pay a revisit.

This place used to be good, but new management ran it into the ground. The food we had was lukewarm, unseasoned, and not prepared properly, the atmosphere is just white walls, everything that gave them personality is gone. The waitress was distracted and up in our business until we asked for the check. You look at the attached image of their “new and improved” interior and tell me you prefer it over what we used to have.

I ordered food right at 11 o’clock, opening time I got there by 11:15 and it was disgustingly cold. The cheese on top of my cheese enchilada was burned. Kinda looked like baked spaghetti

I called and placed a To go order for 25 tacos because it was $1.00 dollar taco night the lady on the phone asked what all I wanted on the tacos and I said just meat cheese lettuce and tomatoes. She said alright it’ll be 20 minutes. I get to the restaurant and the young lady at the register says that will be 39 even I then ask aren’t the tacos $1.00 dollar tonight and she says yes but since you got tomatoes on them it’s an extra .50 cents, well that would have been nice to know because I definitely wouldn’t have had the tomato added! I do not recommend! Plus the food was cold and just thrown in a box!

This place used to be really good, with a good atmosphere. I usually always get the birria tacos and I love Mexican corn. It was to my surprise by the change of atmosphere. The awful birria. And the awful Mexican corn bites. I don’t know what happened to the food but it tasted not too great.

Stopped in to try this Sonoras location and try the Ponder House Cheesecake. We went with the Pina Alambre, which is hit or miss at the Portsmouth location, and the elote. Unfortunately, our elote never came, but fortunately we weren’t charged for it. The pina alambre (with the sides of beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream) were easily shared between 2 people and could probably feed three. Nothing great about it, just something different than the typical fare.
Parking is somewhat limited but a few more spots than the Portsmouth location. If you or someone in your party isn’t a fan of loud noises then this location probably isn’t for you. We had at least three trains pass while dining, and with the tracks being immediately adjacent to the building it could be an issue for some folks. The service was okay, not great, not bad, just okay. No refills on the water, the missed order of the elote, and we had to get our own dessert from the fridge, and flatware from the cart. The positive was that after we were seated beneath a speaker the music was turned down, or at least it seemed to be; it could have just seemed lower after the first train went through.
All in all, we wouldn’t go out of our way to eat here again, but would probably stop here if traveling and had to choose between Wendy’s, the gas station, and here.

The BBQ Fajita with smoked pulled pork. And the smoked pulled pork Mac and cheese burrito. Both are delicious and we will be coming back for it. Husband inhaled the Mac an cheese burrito. Before I got a picture of it. Warning the Mac and cheese does have jalapeno in it. Not a problem for us but if you can’t do hot stuff just a warning.
