found this place by chance and was extremely pleased with the whole experience! We had driven past this place to go to another and found that a private party was being held and said oh, let’s go back to that other place it sounded great and it was. A friendly staff treated us as we say at the bar. The drinks were spot on but the food was out of this world. the empanadas were creamy and delicious with cheese oozing out the burrito bowl was excellent and I had the breakfast tacos that were out of this world .We will definitely be back for this cute little spot in nutley that has excellent Mexican food!!

I was on the hunt for a place to have brunch. The food did not disappoint! It was delicious. I did want to partake bottomless mimosas, but was told I couldn’t for some random rationale. So I took it into stride ….worked out anyways.

First time here and definitely will be back. Came in for brunch and was blown away by all of the different options. We ended up going with some guacamole, the chorizo bites and empanadas to start and we ended with two breakfast platters. Everything was well cooked, and the flavors were bold and delicious. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere, vibrant and welcoming.

Love this place — definitely a local gem. Food is consistently great and the atmosphere is always on point. My go-to orders are the Cajun chicken and the braised beef short ribs, both are excellent. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We recently hosted a party of 15 at Sonoma, and I have to say — everything was fantastic. Although it was during brunch hours, the staff went out of their way to accommodate our special request for the salmon with mushroom risotto, and it was absolutely worth it. The dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
We also ordered coffee, and they brought out warm milk — a small but thoughtful touch that really stood out.
The food overall was a hit with everyone, and the prices were very reasonable, especially for a large group. The atmosphere was open and inviting, with eight TV screens surrounding the room and a fully stocked open bar. We didn’t miss a thing — it was the perfect balance of great food, great service, and a relaxed, modern setting.
Bonus: On weekends (Friday and Saturday), they offer mimosas for just five dollars and live entertainment with BJs starting at 9 PM. Plus, they’re always hosting fun events — for example, there’s a Shakira look-alike contest happening this Thursday, May 24, 2025.
Highly recommended for both casual dining and group events — Sonoma delivers on every level.
