Food is delicious. Service is friendly and attentive. Can get crowded, but not too boisterous. Nice selection of oysters. Seafood is terrific, but steaks are offered as well. Good local beer selection.

My family and I went out to dinner, and we were blown away by the service from Johnny and the rest of the team working the high tops and dining area. It was refreshing to watch how well they worked together to take care of everyone.
The bartenders were slinging amazing cocktails while managing a full bar top. We ordered two rounds of drinks, and both were absolutely delicious.
Our food was fantastic from appetizer to dessert. My steak was cooked perfectly to the temperature I requested, and the kids’ portion was just right for our little one—not to mention responsibly priced.
The evening exceeded our expectations. Huge thanks to Johnny and the team for making our dinner so enjoyable—we’ll definitely be back!

Sonny’s is wonderful! We joined my brother and his girlfriend for brunch last Sunday, as this is their neighborhood haunt. The location is in downtown Dover and looks like a blast in terms of the bar scene.
Their brunch menu, while small, was creative and filled with unique options. My BLT, without lettuce, was filled with thick, crispy bacon and served on perfectly crisped bread. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and meals. Thumbs up to the bartender! I ordered a My Friend Dori which was blended well and tangy. We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu in the future.

The fish and chips oh lord!!! Amazing!! Delicious!!! Do not miss! Crispy and delicious fresh and flaky!!! And the drinks!!! Highly recommend the shot s the Harvard wall banger and well pretty much the entire menu!!!!

Drinks are good! Bartenders are great along with the rest of the staff. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and they have a unique selection of drinks as well as old school classics. They offer a different variety of deviled eggs daily. I always enjoy my visits there.

Meh. Nothing to get excited about. We ordered the charcuterie and it arrived with saltine crackers and apricot jam from a jar for $24. The steak frites arrived luke warm and overcooked. Literally no one asked us how put me meal was. Very disappointed and now we know why there was no wait on a Saturday night. Listening to overserved patrons throwing the F bomb around didn’t help Hoping we just caught them on an off night and t.hey will improve.

I live 2 hours from Sonny’s Tavern and everytime I come up to Dover I make it a point to get brunch here on the weekend. 10/10 every time. I usually go for Sonny’s breakfast accompanied by a Cowboy Coffee. Eggs always cooked perfect, home fries are the best I’ve found in a long time, huge fan of sausage patties and to top it off a grilled English. As for the Cowboy Coffee well that is my favorite part of breakfast. Absolutely delicious!

Went here for brunch, I would advise making a reservation for brunch but we got lucky and got a seat right when they opened at 10am. Food was amazing, cornbread served in a cast iron pan with a pepper jam. I had the chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy which was fantastic. The sausage gravy was perfect. My wife had the Monte Cristo eggs Benedict and was also great. Can’t wait to go back and check out the bar area.

Whenever I am away from home I search for something that reminds of it. Sonny’s Tavern hit that on the head. From the way the staff interacted with us to the drinks and food it felt like I was at one of my local favorites. I will be enjoying breakfast here again and again until I’ve had all that they can offer. Very very impressed, you will be too.

Started off with the brussel sprouts, which were amazing, leaving me wishing I had 2 orders of them. For my entree i had the original chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The chicken was perfectly crispy and fries were deliciously seasoned. For drink I had the modern love which was so refreshing!
