We heard they serve “good pizza!” I understand the owner imports flour from Italy and makes his own sausage and sauce.
We, like many of you, have had our share of pizza all over the world. Unfortunately, this is far from the best.
I was eager to try the “homemade sauce”. Unfortunately there was little to none on our sausage and mushroom pizza making extremely dry. There was only a sprinkling of mushrooms.
When we returned to our hotel another couple was eating a pie from Sonny’s who commented about the lack of sauce.
I know that many places in Mexico cut back on product and quality during a busy time. This was President’s Day Weekend which may explain why the pie was not great.
The first thing out of the server’s mouth was “we only take cash”. This is yet another reason you may want to pass on this restaurant. In this “plastic card” world Sonny needs to grab a simple credit card system and eat the X% service charge. We as tourists are not walking around with hundreds of dollars in our wallet to save a business’s small percent service charge.

A canadian in mexico making pizza like he is from Chicago. You cant ask for much more. He has fun twists on pizza and they are delicious. I have tried pizza in 8 different states and 4 countries and he is better or as good as any other pizza I have ever tasted. This is a must stop place while on the island. Worth the ferry ride from cancun. The pizza feeds 3 people and is well worth the price.

I’m from Central Indiana, but I’ve been to a few countries in Europe and the Caribbean. Outside of NYC, and Chicago. This is my favorite pizza. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The owner is great. The staff is great. The setting is beautiful and you are only 100 yards from the Caribbean Sea. Definitely check it out when you need a break from traditional Mexican food.

We ordered the Stagioni pizza and were allowed to swap out the meat for extra veggies-it was incredibly flavortul loaded with toppings and a thin, crispy exceptionally tasty crust. The chilled red Malbec was the perfect pairing, and the service was outstanding. The
atmosphere, decor, music and view of the town square makes this place truly special, but the pizza alone makes it unforgettable. A must stop when you visit Isla.

This was such a great place. The owner was so kind and checked in on all the tables. The pizza was so delicious and for such a great price. It’s a great place to change up your food for the week and enjoy some pizza- it tastes homemade and full of love! Thanks Sonny!

I think the Grandma’s Italian Meatball Pizza might be the best pizza I’ve ever had! The Caesar Salad was great as well and the service was amazing!! Had a great conversation with the owner. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Isla.
