After being told to do so numerous times, I finally decided to check out this chicken place.
I got a 5pc chicken tender basket with fries, “secret sauce,” and bbq sauce.
When I first walked in, I was greeted by a cheerful cashier, who was more than happy to assist with my first experience. The self-serve fountain drink machine worked just fine for me.
While I waited for my food, I took the time to absorb the surroundings. There were people chatting about, customers and crew, as if everyone were friends, which is always nice to see, you can tell this place has a good amount of regulars just in the short time I was here. It felt like a new diner though, as there wasn’t really much decoration to immerse into, felt like just another sitting area.
Alright, so my food came out. I went to my work truck as I could not stay, but I had to try some of the food, that was fresh out the kitchen (very fresh/hot).
First off, the fries. Just some standard crinkle cut bland fries from a big box store, nothing special at all here. Was there a seasoned fries option? Perhaps I didn’t see it, but if they used the same fries and just sprinkled something on top, I’d feel just the same.
Now the chicken. Wow! OK so this is not some fast food chicken you get where it is 90% breading, these tenders were a whole Lotta chicken! The breading was not too thick, and had a nice southern homestyle taste. I do wish it was a little more robust, but it was very enjoyable. The chicken itself was very juicy, cooked properly, and nicely sized.
Summary, if you are passing through the 1 highway city of Simmesport, swing by this chicken joint and grab a plate! I did see a wide and varying menu, so I will go back and try out some other stuff.

First time i ordered from them i got the 3pc tenders w red beans as my side and they were delicious and the tenders were amazing and very large and perfectly seasoned,very hot and fresh also great secret sauce!!

Service and restaurant were professional and clean. Workers were cordial. Menu has a lot of variety. However I got a 2pc. dark fried chicken basket and nothing was seasoned. Chicken was bland. Fries were plain. And chicken tasted like grease was old. But the food was hot, thats why I gave it 2 stars.
I’ve had their food before and it was great. Maybe it was just an off day. I will be back cause everyone has off days.

Food is good but service is terrible. You never know what time they will close their Kitchen. You can show up an hour early before closing and they will say the kitchen is closed very unreliable hours.

Food is always delicious. My favorite place to eat whenever I’m in town. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Just one suggestion… make more vegetables please!!!

My chicken thighs were cut in half. Got more back than thighs. Lost a customer. Bad when you pay almost $20 and get half a thigh. 4 of them. Really cheating people. Management gave poor excuse. Want go back.

Had the loaded baked potato with grilled chicken. Was very good. Did not eat the fried chicken, but it was some of the biggest pieces I’ve seen. Almost all of the fried chicken places now serve tiny pieces. These are old school. An 8-piece actually fills up a box. I’d give them 4.5 Stars if allowed.
