Came in today. Haven’t been here in years, wasn’t disappointed? Everything was wonderful from the French fries. Baked beans, corn bread and sliced pork. And French fries. Hello, love trying all the different barbecue sauces, sweet, original sizzling and smoking sweet was my favorite. Very nice here, music, dulling TV’s with sports and news on Em very friendly atmosphere. We’ll come back again. 5 stars all the way i do miss the salad bar though. I did like having that. Make sure you get here early.It gets busy not very much parking next to the door and our waitress was outstanding. She was pregnant and still did her job. Good way to go, girl.

We found this place on our journey to enjoy Manatee Season in Crystal River and it surely didn’t disappoint. The smell of bbq hits your nose upon entry and your taste buds will thank you later. The food is great, and our server Dustin was perfect. His vibe was comfortable and knowledgeable and he didn’t miss a beat. Definetly come by if you’re ever in the area like us, our first time was certainly memorable!

Waited over 5 minutes in drive thru at the Inverness Florida location before we were even greeted. We placed an order prior to our arrival, a family meal and 2 additional meals once we got there Total wait time was over 25 minutes. When the food was handed to me, it was disgustingly dirty as if someone had took their hands and just slapped it in the container. Dirty napkins, were given to us also. When I ask them to repack the sides, the girl at the window was not polite, refused, and told me she could wipe them off. She handed me the 3 large sides back and they were still dirty! The Macaroni was so disgusting. It was full of oil and it was so bad you could rub it between your fingers and it was like mashed potatoes. I will also be reaching out to corporate because this is most definitely, the worst experience I have received at a restaurant in my life! Almost a hundred dollars spent, no receipt and the sad part is, besides the macaroni and a large tea, the rest was for a grieving family. I’m literally embarrassed that I took that food to them. I guess I will have to travel Bushnell and go to Popeyes where my family and I have always been greeted with smiles and excellent customer service. I have to do something to make up for the trash that I took to that family. They didn’t deserve that garbage at all! Rest in peace Mr. Clinton Chesteen of Dunnellon Florida, a former vet who was loved by many.

I’ve been having problems with this store regularly missing veggies thats supposed to come with the burgers which are essential (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles). I’ve not complained because their burgers are my favorite for the Inverness area and I generally have the veggies at home to replace it with. Just yesterday I ordered 2 “rare” hamburgers again and to no surprise… no veggies and this time I had none at home to replace them with so I was pretty annoyed. What made things worse was that not only were the burgers not rare… they were burned and had an acrid taste. I called the store to inform them and the night manager apologized but when I asked if the veggies came free with the hamburgers (which should be obvious imo) he stated, “I guess.” You lost a regular customer and no I don’t want the free burgers to “pick-up”… I want money.
Update: I spoke with Marlow (Manager) and Megan (Assistant Manager) the next day and explained what happened the night before.. not only did they make me feel appreciated but did everything they could to resolve the matter. Aside from refunding me for the burgers but still offered another free one for the inconvenience. They were very professional, upbeat and a delight. Thanks ladies. I changed my mind… I’ll be a returning customer again.

I actually ordered online for pickup a quick snack of the smoked pork eggrolls and they were awesome. Hot, crispy, cheesy, smoky and downright delicious! Staff was nice and inside looked clean. Overall a good order – no regrets on this purchase!

Well I’m definitely not eating this salad! How can you serve this? Who thought this was ok to package and surprise a frequent customer with this disgrace of a “fresh” salad. All of the lettuce is severely wilted and ROUGH cut. Not to mention half of it was blackening. Also you can clearly tell the salad is made with only the outside leaf layers and not made with any core foliage. In the attached photos you will also see pieces of white bitter bottom trimming that should have been thrown in the garbage instead of my togo box. Also noticed all of the parmigiano cheese was at the very bottom underneath the lettuce…..strange…maybe should have covered the salad to hide ALL of its imperfections.

My husband and I dine here often. It’s a great casual dining spot to get barbecue. Plenty of sports playing without the bar atmosphere, definitely family friendly. St. Louis ribs are one of our favorites, along with the pulled pork mac and cheese. Kayley, our server, was very friendly and attentive. Portions were generous and delicious!

Shame on you Inverness Sonny’s for getting rid of all your fat in my takeout order. I ordered and paid extra for brisket extra lean and thinly sliced. What I got was chunks of fat.
Don’t worry it won’t go to waste as I will give it to the dogs over the next few days. I can’t give it to them all at once because they’ll get diarrhea.

First time eating at a Sonny’s BBQ.
Staff and Atmosphere
The greeter was friendly and nice. The server was good and attentive. The only ding i have for the atmosphere, and it’s not a big one, i felt the music was a little louder than it breaded to be.
Food
I felt the portions were what i expected, the quality was good. My wife and u really liked the pulled chicken and port the most out of the four meats we got. The brisket did not have a smoke ring, but it was otherwise good. The jalapeno and cheese sausage was good. Of the four bbq sauces, the smokey was the the best. The sizzling was not. I’m not a fan of green beans in that style, but my wife liked them. The corn bread was fantastic.
