Wanted to try out a good BBQ place and Sonny’s passed the test. The service was warm and wonderful! The food was so good! Definitely recommend eating here. Kid friendly food. And not too expensive. Huge cups of sweet tea. I asked for half sweet, half unsweetened and our waiter nailed it! It was so perfect!

I’ve been coming to this location for quite a while
The pulled pork, beef brisket and the barbecue ribs they serve are worth the stop. The sweet ribs and the Kansas City ribs will not disappoint.
I’ve had the barbecue chicken, hamburgers we’ve even had the hamburgers specials they’re offering, always good!
The baked beans have been the same recipe for as long as I’ve been coming to Sonny’s the coleslaw is always fresh and served cold
If you’d like fried okra, I would suggest getting it, if you like it a little crispier they will do it that way and it’s delicious
If you’re a tater tot person you came to the right place. They also serve fries and onion rings.
If you like, southern sweet tea, it”s perfect

I find the other servers are all polite and work hard
The one staff member whose name I don’t know, always acknowledges who you are.
If you want a nice cold beer, a drink they have a bar on site.
It does get busy during season, but they handle it well.

This place left me with mixed feelings. The building itself is beautiful and modern, and the interior design is very interesting, with a true American barbecue style. Parking is convenient, and as soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a great barbecue smell that really sets expectations.
Unfortunately, the organization and service were disappointing. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated, even though there were plenty of empty tables available. Once seated, our order was taken quickly, but the food took almost an hour to arrive, which was far too long.
As for the food, the portion sizes were very small, especially considering the prices. We ordered ribs and two other types of meat. The turkey was the best — very juicy and flavorful. The beef tasted good quality but was quite dry. The ribs were also dry and lacked a strong barbecue flavor. The sides were not to my taste: the coleslaw was overly sweet, and the beans were extremely sweet, almost like candy, which overpowered the meat.
Overall, the restaurant has a great concept and atmosphere, but the long wait times, small portions, and inconsistent food quality did not meet expectations. For these reasons, I rated this place three stars.

Really nice BBQ place with real smoke flavor. We had the St. Louis Ribs and brisket. Ribs were delicious. Really good flavor. Not quite as fall-off-the-bones as I’d make them but I know most people prefer that anyway. Brisket had a nice, smoky flavor. The original and the sweet bbq sauces are amazing! Price is really good too. $20 each for a really good lunch.

I think my love affair with Sonny’s BBQ is over. The last few times I have been there I haven’t been impressed with the food. Today I ordered The BBQ Pork Eggs Rolls and an interesting dish with a BBQ Pork and cole slaw atop 2 cornbread rounds. It was topped with crispy fried onions. First the egg rolls. Way overcooked and greasy on the outside. It seemed more like a cabbage egg roll because I could barely find any pork in them. It was an appetizer and came with my meal. I would have rather had them first, as an appetizer should be. Even worse, they were cold. The corn cake entry had tons of potential but as with the eggs rolls, it was also cold. I hate cold food. The fries I order were terrible. Cold and mushy. I wonder how long this was all sitting before they brought it to the table. By the time the waitress came around to ask “How is everything”? It was too late to start over with food cooked properly. Overall, a huge thumbs down. This is likely my last time eating there.

I love Sonny’s BBQ at this location on tamiami trail!!!! Love the servers Shanna T and Gretchen they are the best servers ever!!!! They deliver drinks and food quickly they always check on you!!! They are beyond great servers. I’m glad they are on your team definitely worth keep coming back. Plus the food is good.

I have had takeout from Sonny’s before, but this is the first time I have used Uber eats to have it delivered. It was delivered extremely quickly. The temperature of the food was satisfactory. The garlic bread was a little chewy, but that was expected when it was delivered like that. My soda was ice cold.

This was my first Sonny’s visit and my husband’s multiple (because of travel) and I LOVED it! We were greeted by the best server MINDY who gave us tips on her favorites on the menu after I asked about them. She made our Sunday dining pleasant! Our food came hot and delicious and she was back on it for any refills or take home containers. Her pleasant and hospitable personality made our experience 5 star!!! Thank you Mindy and Sonny’s for the great Sunday meal! We will be back!!!

Our service was Gretchen and she was fabulous! Greeted us like we were friends and answered all our questions regarding the menu. The food was delicious!
