Disappointed. I’m from Michigan and every time I come to Haines city I look forward to going to Sonny’s but not anymore. The quality has gone down more and more every year. They were out of lemonade, they forgot my coleslaw, the lettuce in my salad was literally brown, chopped brisket was mostly fat and what wasn’t fat was burnt, the kids chicken tenders were mostly breading and gristle.
Sadly this will be my last Sonny’s experience.

There have been a few Sonny’s locations that haven’t been up to standards this year so we decided to try a new location here in Haines City.
The food: I ordered the all you can eat sliced pork with bread, Mac n cheese, and fries. It was all delicious but next time I’d skip the mac.
The sliced pork was super moist and full of flavor and our sever was super fast with giving me a reorder. I’ll never order anything but the sliced pork; it’s just too good!!
The staff: the staff here was absolutely the best I’ve seen in a long time. There was a bug found on a slice of garlic bread and it looked like it was grilled to it! The manager quickly came out and comped our meal for the table. He even came back to give us more garlic bread and so did our server. Needless to say, we had plenty of delicious garlic bread to eat.
We will definitely be back and will never be going to the location by the Florida mall off orange blossom trail again. This place is the standard!!!

I was attempting to eat here on 2/23/2026 around 7pm. Waiting to get seated wasn’t an issue because they were a bit busy. The problem was the lady standing on a table hanging decorations from the ceiling. I pointed it out to a staff member. The staff member observed it as well but made NO effort to address the lady standing on the table. Instead I could hear her telling the other workers about it and laughing. Completely unsanitary. Needless to say I’ll NEVER step foot in this restaurant again. And if I were you I’d reconsider as well.

Went through the drive-thru today around 1:00 p.m. there was no cars in the Drive-Thru and the parking lot seemed very empty as I approached to order I was told to please hold which I kindly holded for 3 to 5 minutes I went ahead and placed my order went around to the window I was never greeted I was never said hello and they never took a form of payment I just sat there for probably 15 minutes and did not get any type of hello how are you we’re getting your food together nothing no type of customer service I will not be going back there unfortunately and if you’re in a hurry or you’re just trying to go through the drive-thru and get some food I would not recommend that I don’t know if they’re short-staffed or what’s going on but communication is key

We went Sunday after 10 am mass. We walked in and waited about 15-20 mins to be seated. There was not host/hostess and the restaurant was not busy so why the wait ?? We were then seated by our waitress who was very nice but did not explain the menu or specials. I found a special online the sunny sampler which is ordered, if I would not of looked online I would have never known. Shouldn’t a waitress have known the specials, and asked if there were any questions about the menu. The food was pretty good not hot but not cold perfect temperature to eat. The ribs were small but fall off the bone, the sliced pork was good as well the Mac and cheese could have been better. It tasted like a hybrid version of craft. The bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was clean and it had a good vibe going on. The place smelled like smoked bbq which is what I would want walking into a bbq place. They also offer carry out and have a drive through.

Sonnys BBQ has a consistent flavor. Very pleasing to the taste. I wish it was more smoke flavor in the chicken. Unless I’m ordering wrong. My extended time in the drive thru is the only reason for the 4 stars. The young lady in the window was very pleasant with great customer service.

We were sat at a dirty table, I cleaned it myself. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. My pulled pork came out completely burned, it was literally black. The waitress had them remake it and it tasted amazing after that. I did notice they’re overwhelming the servers as they all seemed stressed with how much was going on, but our waitress didn’t let it slow her down at all!
