They were super slammed when we stopped there. The hostess notice that no one took our drink order, so she went right over took it and brought it back. Then the waitress came and took our orders and topped off the refills.The brisket was phenomenal. The best I ever had. Service was outstanding and attentive. Sonny’s is a road trip favorite, especially since they closed the one near us. Today we did appetizers only because we had dessert plans and two of us still got pretty full on two apps. The corn nuggets are always a favorite and today we also got loaded tots with pulled chicken. Our waitress was warm and friendly and attentive to our needs.

Enjoyed a pleasant, early dinner this evening. I drove 58 miles since this is the 2nd closest Sonny’s near my house. I found the restaurant clean and friendly. The service was very friendly. Melaena showed a Southern Hospitality like I haven’t seen in quite some time. I got the “Big Deal” Pulled-pork sandwich with baked beans. The sweet tea tasted great. I enjoyed my drive home.

All the food ordered was delicious, the only complaint was that the service was way to slow. Manager said they were having a lot of catering for holiday season but I don’t think that is an excuse. Waited more than 30 min for food to arrive.

I eat at Sonny’s all over the country and they are always great food and service so this review is just for this single Sunny’s.
My wife and I walked in around 2:30pm on a Friday afternoon and there were only five tables with people at them. We waited and waited 45 minutes for a waitress. Once she took our order the tea came on out and then food shortly thereafter.
The food was great as always at Sonny’s.

I’ve probably eaten add about 10 different Sonny’s BBQ locations across the southeast. They’re all good and I would like to thank them for being consistent from store to store. If you get a pulled pork sandwich in Richmond Kentucky it takes just like the pulled pork sandwich you get in Charlotte North Carolina. Always love their sauces , original goes really good on fries. I seriously can’t get enough of their tea. I usually get it cut half half with lemon. Even though I just got done eating they’re not half an hour ago just talking about it again is making me hungry again. That’s how freaking good this food is! Can’t say enough about Sonny’s BBQ except why are there none in Virginia , specifically the Virginia Beach Suffolk Chesapeake area or Utah? What the hell.

We’ve been eating at Sonny’s all over for many years. The staff was very kind and helpful. The food, not so good. My ribs were served cold. They hav NO BUTTER for the corn or bread. They gave me a couple of tubs of something awful called 40% Whipped Vegetable Oil Whipped Spread. I wouldn’t grease the axles on my truck with that nasty stuff. A pleasant visit but I probably won’t go to another Sonny’s unless they provide real butter.

There are so few left. For a chain the barbecue is one I always enjoy. They have some of the best beans and the sweet tea really rounds out a good meal.

Excellent customer service. We eat the family combo it was a lot of food for 3 people. But I love this barbecue!! My sister is visting!! So she enjoy their barbecue. Although they were super busy, our order didn’t take long to be served!
