Our ticket was under Shay B, Table 45, Check #218, total $108.63 for 6 adults and 1 child.
We waited about 8 minutes to be seated, which wasn’t an issue — the problem started once we sat down. No one came to our table for 20 minutes. No greeting, no drinks, no acknowledgment. I eventually had to get up and find a server myself, who was very kind and took our drink and food order.
About 10 minutes later, our assigned server finally came to the table. Service was extremely slow and disorganized. She stated she was busy with another table directly behind us — that table was clearly unhappy as well.
Throughout the meal:
• We were not given silverware, straws, or a kids cup
• The server did not know where our food was or what some of the dishes were
• Everyone received their food, but I waited an additional 5 minutes for my salad
• No pre-bussing was done at any point
• A flavored lemonade was never brought, yet it was still attempted to be charged on the bill
As a waitress of 6 years, I am extremely understanding of busy nights and understaffing — this was neither. This was inattentive service, lack of communication, and poor table management from start to finish.
This experience was unacceptable, especially for a bill over $100. I truly hope management reviews this situation and follows up, because this was the worst service I’ve personally experienced dining out.
At Sunny’s BBQ, just off the road,
Where the tea is sweet and the stories flow,
There’s a man named Bucket who moves with grace,
A quiet strength carved into his face.
He doesn’t wear a name tag loud,
Or need to shout above the crowd.
He simply shows up, plate in hand,
Like someone who knows, and understands.
He brings the tots, pours the tea,
But somehow offers more than mealtime peace.
A joke, a glance, a patient ear—
He makes you feel like you belong here.
There’s something steady in how he stands,
How he holds your plate with gentle hands.
Not just a job, not just a task—
He brings a kindness most forget to ask.
I once came in with a heavy head,
He brought the meat, then quietly said:
“Some days feel long, but they still pass—
Eat slow, breathe deep. Life’s not too fast.”
And in that booth, beneath the light,
I realized Bucket got it right.
Not just a waiter, but a thread—
That holds together what might have fled.
So here’s to Bucket, who serves and sees,
Who tends to more than just our needs.
A name you won’t forget too soon,
A heart that hums like a backroom tune.
