Stopped at Sonny’s BBQ on my way to a trade show in the area. Had a pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread with some Mac and Cheese. They had a choice of four sauces. I sampled each and landed on the Sweet sauce which was a zestier version of the original sauce. Pulled pork was tasty and a little fatty but not overly. Mac and Cheese was creamy, needed some salt and pepper to elevate the flavor and probably a little soggy. But don’t get me wrong. I ate every bite. Service was quick and no nonsense. All in all good experience and I would eat here again.

So to start off with the service was good . But they were out of like 15 items which is most of the menu . The power plates only come with two items on the plate which is ridiculous for a grown man . Portions were small . The candied bacon burger taste good but it’s dry . The orca was good. Over all I would not come here again . But it’s good if you wanna waste money .

The staff was so great! My order was ready for me at the time they promised and even though I forgot to include in my notes on the order I wanted no ice in my drink they were super nice when I asked if they hadn’t already prepared my drink if I could have no ice but also let them know since it was my error it was no problem
I was so impressed with how fast and friendly they were considering how busy they were with orders waiting to be picked up and the fact it was just a couple hours before they got out of work to start their Thanksgiving celebrations
I will definitely be visiting this location again and encouraging all my friends and family to do so as well

My husband and I stopped in for lunch — I ordered the turkey and he ordered the platter. The food was done well. We both had Arnold Palmers, which were always refilled promptly. The restaurant is in a small town and wasn’t very busy during our visit. The bathrooms were clean, our food came out quickly, and overall we had a really nice experience. The staff did seem a bit stressed, possibly due to being short-staffed, but they were still polite and attentive. I don’t have any photos to share this time, but we enjoyed our visit!

My wife and I eat at Sonny’s in Alachua every week at least once but I was traveling for work and stopped at this location in Starke because I had a reward for a free meal that was going to expire at days end. I will start with Jess my server her attention to me was amazing and a great happy attitude towards all of her customers. Then when my meal came out it looked amazing and tasted even better thanks to Roxanne and Nicole. It has been quite a while since I have been that pleased with my meal from Sonny’s. Stopped in for dinner, was a bit busy but was seated immediately. Very friendly staff and helpful. The food was really good. Started with wings and salad, they were very flavorful. Next for our meal we had Pork 3 Ways and my preferred the Sonny’s Sampler. Great meal and they even serve cocktails and do E-Mail Coupons now.

I do love the food here, as it’s delicious. I always get their pulled pork sandwich every time. One thing that made me disappointed was not being provided the Cinnamon apple bread pudding. I was sad, actually instead I was given bacon Mac n cheese. I don’t even eat bacon like that. If they were out, it would’ve been nice to be informed as opposed to giving me something that I may not like. I didn’t eat it but I did eat what I did order.

My family and I visited this Sonny’s at 4pm on a Saturday. None of our food was hot, at best lukewarm. The fries we were served were not even window warm, the spicy sandwich was calmer than the tater tots, and the salad was soggy. They had one server for the whole restaurant with NO bartender. Our waitress was amazing, only redeeming factor. All this said we paid $80 for food we barely ate. Their menu was not the typical Sonny’s menu, VERY small selection. We will not be back!

I usually don’t like franchise restaurants. They tend to be mediocre, but in this case the food was just delicious. We split a brisket sandwich. Meat was soft and tasty and their sauce was just what we like. And, the sodas are huge. Server was very nice and efficient.
Place was a little cooler than we like and the country music, which we love, was played a bit too loudly for our tastes. Other than that this place was spotless and decorated very nicely.
