The butter cake was unreal… warm, rich, and dangerously good. The crème brûlée was perfectly caramelized with that smooth, creamy center you hope for but rarely get.
Service and atmosphere were classic steakhouse — comfortable, professional, and great for a date night or celebration.
Fair warning: you may need to schedule extra gym time the following week to recover… totally worth it.
We’ll definitely be back.
We got the calamari as an appetizer. It was stringy, chewy and flavorless. But once it was dropped off, nobody ever came back to us how he liked it so we looked forward to our stakes. I ordered my steak medium, and it was still rare through the middle. My side dish was cold. But once the food was dropped off, nobody came back to ask how we liked it. I did finally get my side warmed up but so by that time, the steak was cold.
It’s a warm and cozy environment however they put the tables just a few inches away from each other so we spent the entire meal listening to the girl at the table next to us rant and rave about how much money she spends on Christmas gifts. I could tell you every single thing she bought for every single one of her family members. When you drop this much money on a meal, you want it to be amazing and this just missed the mark all the way around.
The “fixed menu” for Valentine’s Day was a treat for all our senses and actually quite affordable.
I’ve never been a fan of amuse bouche but this one was a thorough delight to all senses. Each of the three courses was beautifully constructed with flavors that amused the nose and tongue.
We haven’t been to Sonny’s since Covid but we definitely will be back. In a city where we’ve lost so many of our fine dining restaurants, we greatly appreciated the professional, the patient service and a kitchen that cares so much about providing a 5- star experience.
BTW, our entire service team was unforgettable, led by waiter Joseph.
Sonny Lubick Steakhouse is one of my absolute favorite spots in Fort Collins. As someone who is highly sensitive to gluten, I can’t say enough good things about how well they accommodate dietary needs. The staff is always kind, knowledgeable, and makes sure I feel completely safe and taken care of with every order.
My go-to favorites:
• The Colorado lamb chops (always cooked to perfection)
• Oysters (fresh and flavorful)
• Scallops (absolutely delicious)
And let’s talk about the lemon drop—hands down the best I’ve ever had! I recently found out the secret: they use a special custom vodka crafted by a former bartender and made exclusively for Sonny Lubick’s. You literally can’t get this drink anywhere else, and it’s the perfect start to any meal.
Pro tip:
• Go midweek to avoid crowds—makes for a more relaxed experience.
• Their posted closing time is actually the last seating time, so plan accordingly if you’re going later in the evening.
Parking: You can try for street parking, but it’s tough to find a spot. I highly recommend parking in the Laporte parking garage just a short walk away. You can stay longer than two hours by paying, whereas street parking is limited to two hours before 6 PM and is hard to get.
Whether you’re gluten-sensitive or just love great food and amazing drinks, Sonny’s delivers every time. Highly recommend!
The seafood/raw tower and oysters were fresh and tasty, the steaks were delicious and the cocktails fantastic.
Our Easter brunch experience was terrific! The food was fantastic! My Easter cocktails were the best. First I tried the martini I could have had this drink all day. The flavors were awesome. Now, let’s get to the star of the show! I order a sex on the beach. I tend to order this drink alot, I’m from Florida and this drink reminds me of being back on my home tuff on Fort Lauderdale Beach! I’ve gone to other restaurants and when I order this drink it’s a 50/50 chance it’s made correctly. I had to wait a few seconds after ordering my cocktail. When our waitress rearrived with the bartender. First, I was just simply taking back by the bartender engery. She was so sweet. She stated the bar was out of the needed ingredients to make the drink I requested. She proposed to make a one of a kind drink for me. I was totally down for it. With an outfit and vibes she was reflecting I just new it was going to be amazing. The bartender did not let me down, when the drink arrived with a purple flower on it i almost cry. It was so cute. Ive been practicing celibacy the last 5 years now after a horrible divorce. Easter weekend marked my 5 year anniversary of no sex and no plans of ever being married again. As I tasted this cocktail it reminded me of a cake my grandmother use to make, “Better than sex cake”.She would say don’t go around giving your goodies away, keep your goodies safe as she stored the fruit in the a jar she was saving for the cake. Nevertheless, this was a drink that could easily compete! Very refreshing love! You should put this new drink on the menu and name it “Better than Sex Tales”! Thanks for the wonderfull time. Stay safe loves it hard out here in this world we all live in together
