I had the Grandma Connie’s Cobb salad and it was so good! Very fresh & tasty. My fiancé had the Harvest grilled chicken sandwich and it was by far the BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD! The goat cheese and raspberry mayo were absolutely amazing together.

Sonny Ds was an exceptional place to stumble upon. The ambiance was great, server, Molly, was awesome and the food was out of this world! Homemade chicken florentine soup was the BEST. Cheeseburger and chicken pesto sandwich followed. Homemade cannoli to finish off great lunch. So nice to find a hidden treasure! Will definitely be back even if I have to drive over an hour from Chicago. Worth the trip! Cheers! Thank you Sonny D for a memorable visit and delicious food.

First time here. Stopped in to grab a bite to eat while on a day trip to New buffalo. The place was pretty busy but the service was nice and the food and drinks were okay, we really liked the fried Pickles. Would probably come back if in the area.

Went on a Saturday evening in summer. Was busy, but no wait. Service was good and fast. Potato cakes for appetizers were a favorite. Creamy pesto pasta was a favorite entree for the table. Burgers were a solid choice as well. Spaghetti and meatballs was a good kid option. Large portions for everything.

Heads up, if you have a party of 5 or more, get ready for the staff to charge you 20% service fee…even though we barely saw our server. I was with my family on a Tuesday evening and were waiting for a table and once we got it, they put us where we could not seat 6 people. We had to ask the busboy if we can sit somewhere else. He took us there and we waited for our server to come and ask for drinks…and then she showed up after 5-10 minutes. We order our drinks and appetizers where it was another 5 minutes for drinks and 20 for the appetizers. Mind you that they were not at full capacity yet. Then we ordered our food and waiting almost an hour from the time we sat down to the time we got our food. The worst part…we didn’t have silverware yet. We tried to ask our server for it but we could not find her ANYWHERE. We asked a guy who gave the food for some. Our server kept passing by our table not asking if we needed refills or how our food was. FINALLY she came back and asked how our food was around 25 minutes after we ordered and we just asked for boxes and the bill. The food overall was pretty good. The bill took ANOTHER 30 minutes to get that some of our family left to get ice cream. This was just bad and I’m sorry to say I am not over exaggerating. They did not care about service at all. We will not be coming back even though the food was decent. Sad we had to ask other workers for help and not our server

Me and my wife tried this place for the first time, and i have to say Sonny D’s is pretty awesome. Everything we tried was amazing. Blackened chicken sandwich, chicken club, sausage and pepper flat bread, fries, lemon chicken rice soup plus a side salad and a couple sodas the bill was $71. Not bad, considering we were both bloated and brought home leftovers. Lol

Update. Today we sat at the bar. Holy crap the drinks are downtown chicago prices not New Buffalo prices.
$53 for 4 short glass captain and cokes is insane. That’s $13.25 each. All the food is awesome but I’ll never have a drink here again at those prices. I could’ve bought 2 entire 5ths at that price

We waited a half hour AFTER we ordered our appetizer and drinks. We didn’t even get our water, utensils or drinks before the appetizer came out. Then we waited an additional 15 minutes before asking a different waitress to get our bill so we could leave. I observed our original waitress go around to all her other tables, and a couple that came in a while after us get their drinks immediately and their food before we even had a chance to order our food. Atmosphere got a 2 because they had some old school photos to look at and didn’t make us pay for the app.
