WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS LOCATION?!!
Went in today to test $6 Smash burger deal on App. $6 meal is an unbelievable value so I wanted to see if it is worth it. Inside, I was shocked to find the order windows closed and only 3 people working inside during the lunch rush hour! There were hardly anyone eating in the dining area and a few people came inside because the Pickup Stalls weren’t working and outside orders were taking too long. No wonder. You can’t run a fast food franchise with only 3 Crew members during busiest time of the day! Management of this location needs to rectify this situation immediately. Either they r inexperienced or there isn’t sufficient traffic to justify adding more people. I saw many order slips printing so I dont think it’s the latter. I saw some customers walk out in frustration after waiting a while to order because nobody inside would acknowledge their service request button! I feel bad for the small number of Crew working inside but their attitudes were similarly nonchalant and non-caring as if they are used to losing customers. So what came first? Loss of customers or reduction of employees? Maybe both. Regardless, it’s the Ownership’s job to save the business. At this rate, they might be heading for a business closure.

As for the food, the $6 Smash burger combo deal is simply THE BEST VALUE EVER that I’ve found in current inflationary environment. I don’t think anything can beat it. You get a decent sized double Smash patties + small fries + small drink. McD has $5 Value combos but their quality and taste can’t match the Sonic $6 promo. So even though the service and ordering are poor here, it’s worth using that deal “everyday” before it ends. Just use the drive thru so u don’t have to deal with the uncaring Crew. But expect some wait to get ur food.
I’m sad and perplexed to see how the Ownership is running down this business. They had too many employees at opening and now, they have bare minimum number of employees. Ultimately, this is the Ownership’s fault. (Jan. 2026)

Another visit to test consistency. They have markedly improved on all metrics – speed, service, quality, accuracy, friendliness, cleanliness. When I first visited them soon after Opening, it was a horrendous experience due to the Management’s poor planning. Getting the food took forever, orders were wrong, and Crew was inexperienced. Others have experienced the same pains so now the place is not crowded at all. I’ve made several more visits since then to check progress and I’m happy to report they’ve gotten so much better. I’m particularly impressed with their accuracy and friendliness because most fast food franchises fail on these areas. In terms of taste, they are on par with peers but food tend to be on the saltier side. Quality is consistent although my corn dog was a bit burnt. Price is a little higher than larger chains but u can sometimes find good deals on their app that makes Sonic meal a better value than BK or McD.
I recommend this location but do use the app deals because fast food prices have gone up too much for all the brands.

First time, last time! One person working and she was busting her ass. The $6 smash burger combo was TRASH. Over cooked burger/hockey puck! Tots were ok, drink was ok. Thought it was a deal, but it wasn’t worth $6. I felt bad for the young lady working. The cook sucked, I hope she wasn’t doing that too! Ordered on the app. arrived at 10:33pm and didn’t get my order till after 11:00pm. Unacceptable! Do yourself a favor and go eat elswhere!

I have three $10 gift cards. I added them to the app. And the app does not allow me to use them. You can only use one at a time and then they expect you to use your credit card. I want to use my gift card funds for the whole purchase.
This is 2026 Sonic. Get with the program. We should be able to use our gift cards on the app.
I suggest to anyone interested, stay away from the app and stay away from gift cards from Sonic. if someone gifts you one say no thank you. This experience was a headache for me when I went into Sonic yesterday. (Order for Raul at about 4:45)

The $6 dollar cheeseburger deal is okay I guess you get what you pay for. My grandkids teenagers didn’t care for it. They ask me let’s not go there again. I would never have known. The young lady at the window was busy talking up a storm with others she kept us waiting on the in the window for like 30 minutes. That wasn’t too cool.

Got here at 12am, stayed at the intercom to take my order I just wanted two shakes.
I stood there waiting for like 10 min.

No one answered at all or said anything
Ended up pulling to the window and got dirty looks from q girl with bright pink hair.
Girl with the headset ended up taking someone else’s order right after she saw me at the window. Thanks sonic.

We have waited at least 20 minutes. We did not receive ordered items until we asked a staff. There are some trash on the table and dirty.

We went inside because we didn’t want to eat in the car. We couldn’t order at the kiosk inside it was stuck and wouldn’t let us order. We waited 10 minutes. When we went to the window ask asked for help the girl said “oh you order there” and went back inside. She didn’t even give me a chance to explain it wasn’t working she just walked away. So I knocked on the windows again and tried to explain again that it wasn’t working. They told me there was a line. I asked, “there’s a line to order?!” He just ignored the question and went back inside. He eventually opened the window and took our order. Horrible customer service. I’m never coming back here again.

Location barely has any stalls to order from & the drive through line is a long mess.
They do not have their mini size at this location for shakes.
Their shakes are what they are known for.
Shake was a liquidity mess no thick consistency & did not taste like banana.
Honestly do not come to this location.

I went to Sonic recently and my order had several issues. Half our order was wrong for it to be $65…. The chicken nuggets were raw inside, and we didn’t receive our cheese fries or sauces. The burger was also wrong — it was taken back, but I ended up getting a completely different one instead. The only positive part was that the staff were polite and tried to be helpful, but overall the food quality and accuracy were really disappointing.

Usually when I visit a sonics I have great experiences overall to the point I want to go back. Seeing this location open up less then 10 minutes away from my house I was super excited! With this being said I am overall disappointed with the Santa Fe springs location. From staff to food it’s not good. Drinks of course are not include on this so if this is the only reason you go then I get it but please take this as caution…dont expect your order quickly. We ordered through doordash and picked up the order. We arrived early and did not check in until the app adv it was ready. From moment of checking in to receiving our order we waited 20 minutes and in that time I checked in with 4 different employee. First 3 were regular employees saying they would “check on it” go in and say it “will be right out.” We noticed our shakes sitting on the shelves so we were naturally hoping it wasnt ours. On the last check in I checked in with the MOD and advised about our time waiting. The manager then started making our order..how do I know? There’s a big window where you can see into the kitchen and our order had specific items. The shakes were remade and the manager brought out our items. I understand busy restaurants are a handful (been in their shoes) but don’t expect your order to be out on time if you’re picking up inside. Car side and drive thru are HIGHLY prioritized, even uber eats and doordashers were complaining. So those ordering through 3rd parties please be kind to your driver, it’s not their fault your order is late. In the end food is good and my only concern is that the shakes we ordered looked identical. My biggest concern is I ordered an ingredient in mine that my husband is allergic too and his didn’t have it…we couldn’t tell which was which and they were not marked and we were not advised. I had to test both hoping I wouldn’t send him to the ER. The rest of the food was good.
