If you give them cash at the drive-through, they will take forever to give your change back and literally short change you that is so crazy. Just happened and I would have left a tip, but that is so sketchy even the receipt didn’t show the change correctly to give back or correct amount I gave her. It showed I paid exact amount, but the change was 3 cents? I gave $30 (total: $24.03) and got back $2 and 3 cents. I’m not gonna call the girl out just in case she’s having a bad day, but I definitely won’t ever be back over here. Super sketchy only because I said this is short, and she immediately knew to give $3 without asking how short is it lol

While I have long accepted to the fact that fast food will typically have bad service, this Sonic location shines above the rest. I can say with absolute certainty that I will never return to any Sonic after this one. Really complex order too.

Almost every time I order the fruited dragon slush, from any Sonic, they give me a regular dragonfruit slush, without the strawberries or vanilla. I don’t know who at corporate Sonic thought that name would be a good idea, because it’s honestly kind of a rare treat that I order that item and actually get the thing I paid for. Also very common for any Sonic is that I’ll order chili fries (with no cheese) and have to have them remake it after I get chili cheese fries, because I cannot have cheese.
These two issues alone wouldn’t warrant a review, nor would the typically long wait time, but this time after hitting the button for a remake I got… cheese fries. With no chili. So I had to have them remake the fries again after a very careful explanation that I wanted just the fries with chili on them, no cheese.
I know from my own experience that working in food service is deeply stressful and that mistakes like this can happen very easily, especially late at night on the day after Christmas. I just wish that employees would take the extra second to reread orders before making them, because that would save them a lot of time remaking things. Measure twice and cut once, as woodworkers would say.

Tonight we ordered onion rings and a blast, about 20 minutes in we push the button to ask where our order js at only to be told theyll be right with us then another 20 minutes pass before my husband actually goes to the front to ask for it. A total of 45 minutes went by before my husband walked from the stall to the entrance and proceeded to ask for the order and the person there was like “oh here you go” and it had clearly been out for a while because the ice cream was completely melted and onion rings were cold, literary cold and not crispy.
Do not come here if you want quick. And plan to be here for a while. Workers don’t put in the effort.

I put my order in cream slush and tots i waited for 20 minutes. I watched other customers pull up and order and receive there order. This is not the first experience I had with this location. They do make Awesome Cream Slush’s! I’m not one to make a issue about it. Just don’t leave someone hanging.

I just got food from Sonic 5736 on Parmer Lane in Austin. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a Sonic. I ordered in a stall. The person I spoke to had a really hard time getting the order correct, and I had to repeat it several times. I ordered a #9 footlong hotdog with a large chili cheese tots, Rt 44 cherry limeade with extra cherry, pretzel twist, and a small ched r peppers. I was a little concerned that the order wasn’t on the screen and even more concerned when the person gave me my total and the red button was still flashing. I worried that meant she had put my order in on the wrong stall. That was at 6:51 pm. Then I waited. And waited. I saw that my order was being made and clicked the pay icon on the screen to pay. I paid with my card and waited some more. About 20 minutes later a girl brought me an order. Not my order. She left. 5 minutes later she came back asking was I sure it wasn’t my order. I told her no, I had a hotdog, not a burger. She left again. 5 minutes later she brought my food. Not that it took 30 minutes to get the food. Then she said that I needed to pay for the food. I told her I had already paid. She said the manager told her I needed to pay. I said, maybe I paid for that meal you kept bringing me. Can you refund me that cost and charge me for this meal? She said she would ask. She came back and said it was all good and I could go as I had paid. Except the meal I paid for was $20.36 and my receipt was for $17.22. Then I got home and found that they never put in my hotdog. I had everything but the hotdog. Worst Sonic in the world. It took a half hour to get the wrong food and be overcharged for it. Not only that, the food was cold by the time I got it and the pretzel was burned.
Update 05/10/25: I tried using the Sonic online complaint form and it was an hour wait for an agent to chat with me. That is unacceptable. No one has an hour to waste sitting by a computer to chat with an agent. At this point I wonder how much financial trouble Sonic is in.

Waited half an hour, got cold good and basically told by the manager to get over it because they were understaffed. I think its the upper managements fault more than hers honestly, this location is ALWAYS understaffed and the staff have bad attitudes because theyre running a restaurant with TWO PEOPLE. Do not reprimand anyone from today, do better at your hiring. If no one wants to work, you’re not paying enough.

I don’t know what it is, but this is consistently the slowest sonic I’ve ever been to. I don’t know how it can take 20 minutes for a soda with no other cars around. Even standing around high in the kitchen wouldn’t cause that.
