The last several times we’ve been I’ve started noticing a massive decline in not only the food and service but the building itself but I’ve never said anything until now. Last night one of the lemonades tasted like really strong vinegar possibly indicating fermentation or bacteria in the lines supplying it. On another occasion I drove all the way home only to find out that one of our burgers were missing and had to drive back to town to get another one which they did remake. Over the summer we went several times to get blasts and 90% of the time they were made with the wrong ingredients and we ended up with completely different orders.
I also need to point out the massive decline in the building itself… exterior wall panels falling off, outside of the building has been nasty looking for well over a year or more, the stalls are rusted and look as though they’ve seen a world war and each one of them used to have an order button. The back of the parking lot where the trash is also looks like no one really cares anymore.
Sonic in Tazewell used to be a nice place but now it looks like it needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The food is better than the standard issue fast food and the prices have stayed about the same despite many other chains steadiky creeping higher, the staff is accommodating and always friendly and super helpful – its imho the best deal in Tazewell for good eats on the go.

Circled the building twice and out of all the parking spots there only about 7 of them had the ability to order. Half the parking lot was covered in chairs to block parking spots. Finally drove across the street and placed a mobile order and was lucky enough to find a mobile pickup spot open, the rest were also blocked by chairs. App said the food would be ready for pickup in about 5 mins ( I felt like that was a good, fast time ) but it actually took about 15 minutes ( this felt to long ). Food was good for what it was worth. Didn’t receive everything we ordered however.

I hate leaving a review as bad as this one. However, today was the worst experience I have had with fast food in a decade. I arrived and checked in on the app. After waiting 15 minutes I decided to go through the drive through. The girl working was rude. She didn’t greet me when I arrived to the window and it felt as if I was a burden to her.
The food was horrible, cold, hard tater tots and very disappointing.

Food wouldn’t have been bad if it was right. I ordered Chili Cheees fries and got regular fries(they rang up wrong). Ordered a double burger and got a single. Not to mention I tried ordering on the app that they clearly want you to use because there are only a couple of stalls to begin with. The only decent part was the carhop Kenley dealt with me very professionally.

Went when it was busy, I didn’t mind that so much because most of the towns power was out. 9/27/24. Understandable that they were slammed. But when we got to order it was pretty basic with 4 burger meals all with fries and drinks. We were handed our food and drove away. My daughter handed me a couple fries and they were barely warm! I was extremely disappointed since I figured they would be fresh based upon how busy they were. They were not very good and the burgers, meh. Good enough, better than the fries I tell ya. Drinks were fine, but don’t say you marked the root beer (x2) and the coke wasn’t. The coke was marked as one of the root beers, good thing I don’t mind root beer, but it’s not that hard to distinguish drinks! I’ve worked at fast food for quite a while. Not sure if I’ll go back or not, or maybe at least i won’t order the fries, because their shakes are good.

I never eat here anymore and I can tell their business has went downhill. Friday night with no customers and the ice cream machine is usually never working. The employees act like you’re an inconvenience. I’m surprised they can make enough to keep operating to be honest.

All Sonic’s are not created the same. When people i know from the area was like sonic is the worse burger place, i know why they believe that. The location for this on seems horrible and it’s traffic flow seems cumbersome or not well planned. Further, I have visited this particular drive thru with friends, and solo, at least 8 times. Of those times, once did everything come out satisfactory in temperature, look, and taste. These were 100% stick menu items. The last time I went I order a sausage breakfast sandwich. The sausage patty that was in it had been cooked smashed style and didn’t cover 3/4 the bread. Then to top it off there was no cheese. Service here has been hit or miss so that’s why I put it at the middle of the road in my ratings. If you happen to live near and you direct want Sonic, please report the craptastic service and food when it happens to you. If you aren’t from the area…. then please go to another Sonic.
