I love sonic and i come to this one often. i frequently get the twisted flamingo. i got that today but i didn’t really look at it till i got home and it IS not a twisted flamingo, i just payed more money for a Shirley Temple. there’s no sweet cream or cherry. it’s not bad just not what i wanted

Consistant, probably best fast food burgers around. Fresh and portion well. Their slushies are the best around. Their fries are crisp. Their ched n pepps are also best around. I have tried many items on menu. They are a solid place to eat.

The woman who was attending the window is extremely rude she has zero customer service! If the name on the receipt is accurate her name is Amanda and she is very rude. Management please retrain your employees to have respect and not speak to customers rudely! The person who answered when I pressed the red button told us to go to the drive through after we told him we were there to pick up a doordash order I told him who it was for and everything. We wait on the drive thru line and she gave us massive attitude and spoke to us like we’re stupid.

I ordered food (cheeseburger) it was cold and gotten sick from eating. Tried whole menu. Its hit or miss. I guess it depends on who’s making the food. The drinks and shakes on the other hand are 10star all the way. Service is okay and sonic location itself looking a little rundown but shakes and drinks are the best. Update 6/25/2025. The sonic on rt one is looking rundown. The paint on the car hop stations are all faded the posters and flyers are all sun faded. The menu sign is twisted backwards being held with rocks and the ordering speaker has seen better days. It’s time for a refresh/remodel. This sonic has been here for as long as I lived in the area 15 years. It’s looked wonderful back then but they haven’t kept up with upkeep. Do better and this will be back in the map.

What seemed like the manager complained about us “honking our horn” really loudly to her coworkers. It was our car being locked. Then yelled at us when we had some car toubles and the alarm went off while we were about to leave, which we turned off literally like 5 seconds later. Plus forgot all of our sauces. Looking at other reviews and photos im pretty sure it was amanda lmao

I waited 15 minutes for them to open at 9:30 because I don’t get sonic very often. I ordered two foot-long chili cheese Coney and it comes up that they are not available at this location at this time. Very disappointing. So I guess I’m gonna have to suffer through their a super when I’m a burrito. It won’t be the same as the chili cheese coneys but hopefully it’s filling.
It’d be really great if they came back out with the banana cream pie shake.
The bathroom door on one side does not lock but conveniently enough there’s a big rock you can put behind it to try to slow somebody down from just barging in. I guess this is a New Jersey alternative to a working lock.
Last comment….. the order was placed at 9:33am. Breakfast burrito and a sandwich. 15 minutes for delivery to my car……

I am deeply disturbed by what I witnessed during my recent visit. An employee named Amanda was overheard telling another staff member that she was going to spit in my father’s food. Whether she was joking or not, this kind of comment is completely unprofessional, disgusting, and unacceptable in any food service environment.

Food safety and basic human decency should never be taken lightly. I expected a much higher standard, and this behavior has completely destroyed any trust I had in this establishment. Management needs to take this seriously — no customer should ever have to wonder if their food is being tampered with.

I will not be returning, and I strongly encourage others to think twice before dining here until this issue is properly addressed.

My family of four visited Sonic in Edison during a day trip. It was on a Tuesday a little after 1 pm, so it wasn’t very busy. We noticed that quite a few of the order screens are out of order. We found one that worked near the restroom since we all had to have a potty break after our drive. I like that they have single person facilities but the doors are quite heavy and despite being handicapped accessible the way to the bathroom is not wheelchair friendly since you have to get up on the sidewalk and then maneuver a heavy door followed by another heavy door. Ordering was easy since we just ordered from the car. My husband was bummed that they did not have watermelon as a flavor option for slushes or any other drinks. I was a bit sad that they were out of onion rings since I can’t eat fries or tots. The footlong conies were a hit with my guys, though. The server was wearing rollerskates, which was nostalgic and impressive. The food was hot, fresh, and good. The mango slush was more ice than anything else, though, and I ended up wasting most of it since I couldn’t drink it. Overall, it was still a good lunch stop.

Amanda was extremely rude to me. I paid for 4 ketchups and she gave me zero. And then tried gaslighting me into saying that she gave me ketchup, even though she didn’t. So rude don’t recommend coming here ever!!!!!

This “ manager “ is the worst person ever ! I have never experienced such a rude employee in my entire life . It’s on video I took ! She flipped me off with two kids in the car & slammed the door . Unacceptable just because you hate your job you don’t take it on customers! She was upset just because I asked her if she was ready to take my order because I couldn’t hear anything and she screamed at me on the mic . I told her she didn’t have to be rude & instead told me I don’t have to order food if she is so rude ! This is allowed Sonic ? Shame on you ! She refused to tell me who the manager was . She should be fired please don’t come to this location unless you want poor customer service & to be flipped off in front of your kids
