We went here for dinner. We ordered their homemade dumplings (delicious), pad Thai (totally not it – looked more like Chinese noodles. It was the only one that we didn’t like), Mongolian beef (pretty good), and Singapore noodles (delicious too). They are served in takeout containers so it was convenient if you have leftovers. We were given paper plates to share our food among ourselves.
We got a chance to talk to the owner. It’s just she and her husband running the restaurant so they need all the support that we can give them. Her husband is Cantonese who moved from L.A. so it’s best to order Cantonese dishes.

I absolutely loved the food here! everything tasted so fresh and homemade. The wonton soup was perfect, the kung pao tofu was perfect, the pad Thai was incredibly perfect, and of course the beef and broccoli was also perfect.
The owner, Connie, is so welcoming and truly made us feel at home. ❤️ Huge thank you to her and her husband, who has been cooking for over 40 years. You can really feel the love and experience in every dish.
We will definitely be back!

Don’t let the older building scare you away, this is some of the best food in Taos. Cashew chicken was amazing, red curry was delicious. The woman serving was so busy but still super sweet and did her best to get to everyone quickly.

If you want the typical America Chinese food this is not the spot. It’s catered more to authentic Chinese flavors and cooking.
I’ve been traveling around the country and usually when I come to small cities I don’t expect much from small little Chinese restaurants. When I got the food I was blown away! I was getting some very exotic flavors I don’t typically get when going to Chinese restaurants. I had to have a chat with the owner which was the host, waiter, and cashier. Then she told me her husband is the only one in the kitchen and I was even more amazing two man army and the food quality was authentic Chinese flavors instead of the generic American Chinese sauces. The husband use to be a chef in China town NYC and bought the same authentic flavors and cooking with him. If you guys want some umami flavors you will be blown away here. Sadly they both are ready to retire soon but if I ever. Come through again I’d love to grab some more delicious Chinese food. Hopefully I’ll make it back before they retire.
If you guys are living here, you’re so lucky because in the 49 states I’ve traveled to only very high Chinatowns will you get this kind of cooking.
It does give me a very old Chinese rustic atmosphere but hey you are here for the food not somewhere elegant to dine.

My husband and I ate at Song’s while on our honeymoon in Taos. We ate at a lot of great restaurants, but on one of our last days just wanted something simple and easy. We ended up at Song’s and loved it. While nothing was particularly remarkable it felt quite, homey, and warm. The dumplings were great and Red Curry was incredible! We had plenty for leftovers which was nice as well. If you know what it feels like energetically to eat a home cooked meal that’s what we got! We went around 5:30 pm and avoided any sort of business. If you want something simple and yummy this is your place! My husband wants me to mention that our server/the owner was very sweet and friendly and will take care of you well!

We called in a to-go order for teriyaki chicken and lemon chicken. Unfortunately, both dishes missed the mark. The breading was oddly soft and soggy — not crispy at all — which gave the chicken an unappealing texture. The meat itself was pale and lacked any color or sear, which made it look and taste questionable.
Both sauces didn’t resemble any teriyaki or lemon flavor we’ve had before and wasn’t enjoyable. Also found some sort of goo/gelatin in the teriyaki dish. On a positive note, the server was very friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Sadly, we ended up tossing both entrees.

Song’s very much exceeded my expectations. Large portions, super flavorful food, lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and the owner was lovely. Ordered the eggplant with garlic sauce, kung pao tofu and vegetable lo mein. All super tasty.
The inside could use a bit of freshening up/modernizing, and the outside could use better signage (right now it just has a sign that says “Chinese restaurant”).

i must tell you this is the best chinese food around new mexico. the restaurant building looks dated but the food is authentic, fresh and flavorful. we had LA style orange chicken and pork fried rice and they were both way above average and very tasty. highly recommend this place.
