The Tom Yum Prawns Soup arrived in a classic Thai hot pot super tangy, spicy, and wonderfully fragrant with huge fresh prawns. Absolutely delicious
The Laab Wings were perfectly crispy, bursting with lemongrass aroma and just the right heat. Coated in chili spices and topped with fried garlic, shallots, and green onions spicy yet incredibly aromatic. No wonder Michelin highlights this dish!
The Pad Thai with Pork Jowl felt like a true upgrade: chewy rice noodles in a perfectly balanced tangy sweet sauce, topped with insanely tender and juicy slices of pork jowl.
Well deserved Michelin Bib Gourmand authentic Thai flavors at incredible value. Will definitely be back!
Beef Cheek Massaman Curry: An excellent dish, with tender beef cheek in a nice rich curry. You can expect tangy and sweet flavours with a hearty protein.
Stir-Fried Egg Tofu and Mushrooms in a Thai Sweet Basil Sauce: This was my favourite dish of the night purely based on the mushrooms alone. Need I say more? All my mushroom lovers, this one is for you.
Chicken Satay on Brioche: A perfect little amuse bouche to start off the night. The type of dish you might eat at a cocktail hour during an upscale party.
Green Mango Salad: Perfect little salad to cleanse your palette after the amuse broche. Great little zest from the chili lime dressing.
Sour Curry Soup: I was never a fan of sour dishes – this dish specifically may change that. I particularly enjoyed the Cha Om Omelet.
Butterfly Pea Flower Coconut Ice Cream: Not too sweet and excellent way to finish off the meal. The coconut meat and pandan coconut jelly pair nicely with the ice cream.
Sweet, tangy and spice. Enjoyed my birthday evening with a different flavoured icecream. The staff was very welcoming and the server was calm and understanding. She made an extra effort to serve s.
“Song (by Kin Kao) is the next chapter in our story—an evolution of our beloved sister restaurant, Kin Kao on Commercial Drive. Born from over a decade of kitchen camaraderie, late-night staff meals, shared travels across Thailand, and endless experimentation, Song is a love letter to Thai food in all its depth, intensity, and heart.” – Song
I was immersed in every word of that love letter. Every dish was crafted so well without trying to be loud. Each course was bold and balanced. Favourite of the 5 would have to be the Curry – Beef Cheek Massaman Curry, Shallot, Carrot, Purple Yam, Orange Yam and Crispy Taro. The beef was so tender it didn’t even need chewing.
Highly recommended by our server (who was so super sweet and friendly) was the Bangkok Mule (V) A spin on a classic mule with chili infused Ampersand Vodka, tamarind, pineapple and Philip’s Ginger Ale. Trust that recommendation and thank me later.
The grilled pork jaw, papaya salad, and beef were all flawless.
To finish, the desserts were amazing; the pandan and lod chong were my favourites.
For drinks, the mango sticky rice drink is highly recommended.
Thank you to the team for such a wonderful experience.
Van was our server — very friendly and provided excellent service!
Tom Yum Soup: Great depth of flavor, though not very spicy for those used to authentic Thai food. The tiger prawns were huge and very fresh—definitely the highlight!
Papaya Salad: Good flavor, but missing the long beans, so it lacked that classic crunch.
Pork Jowl: Tasty, but sliced too thin. I missed the thick, juicy, and bouncy texture.
Nam Prik Steak: We asked for rare, and it was perfect. Wrap it in lettuce and add the extra sauce if you love a spicy kick!
Pad Thai: Disappointing. It was too soggy and lacked “wok hei” (smoky stir-fry aroma). Would not recommend.
They surprised us with a complimentary special drink for the birthday celebration!
Food was amazing. As someone who is picky and that doesn’t like Thai food very much, this place changed my mind.
The highlight was the mango sticky rice drink.
Service was on point and friendly.
Seating is comfortable.
Making/managing a reservations is easy online. There is cancellation fees/deposit, so make sure you are aware.
Street parking around the neighbourhood.
10/10 would come again.
Food wise, I ordered the set menu, which is what I try before and was pretty good. I would say amuse bouche and appetizers, i.e. oyster and shrimp toast were excellent. The papaya salad is refreshing, but not as good as the pomelo salad that I had before. The main was a stir fried mushroom and curry mussels, which were to the expectation. We added Tom Yum soup as well. Dessert sorbet was phenomenal.
