I ordered from Sona Restaurant and Grocery and really enjoyed the food. The chicken tikka kebab was tender and flavorful, and the butter naan was soft and fresh. The chicken biriyani was the highlight for me—aromatic, well-spiced, and packed with plenty of chicken. The rice had that perfect balance of heat and fragrance without being greasy. Overall, a solid spot for good Indian food—I’d definitely order again.

I ordered buttered chicken and chicken tikka masala. This was a special treat for me as a single mom. I got a gift from my dad and treated myself. The sauce was incredibly thin. The flavor was good, but there was no thickness to the sauce. As soon as I even opened it, it spilled out everywhere.I would never buy food from here again. Especially if you want to treat yourself because you typically don’t get to order this kind of food.

Went New Sona restaurant today @ Rufe Snow Fw . Omg ! Got amazed with their food . It was so yummy . We had Mutton biryani , chicken boti kabab , Shami kabab . All of them were so good . The price was so reasonable too . After food we had masala chai . It was amazing too . Love to go back there . Employees were very friendly .
I have read the reviews of this restaurant but I think that was for old owner. They have new owner & new Employee. Must try atleast once . Food was out of the world

I find it extremely dishonest and shady business to name this place such a close name to the one in this space prior to try and trick customers. I will never buy from here for that reason. It ALMOST tricked me but thankfully I realized it when I searched google maps more thoroughly and the REAL Sana that is amazing is further west just a little down the road on Watauga Blvd. Long time (almost 20 years) customer here if the real one, not this fraud.

The butter chicken had way too much grease in it, and the flavor was mid. The sauce is separating from the grease. I hope it doesn’t clog an artery. But the rice is probably the fave in this meal and the garlic naan is fluffy and has a good flavor.

I was very disappointed with my meal. I found a small silver wire in the beef curry/daal fry, which was quite concerning. The kheer was the worst I’ve had anywhere — made with the wrong type of rice, undercooked, and extremely dry, just soaked in a little milk and saffron water. It also lacked sweetness, as if no sugar was added at all. Overall, a very poor experience.

I’ve eaten here before and it was decent but y’all need to FIRE whoever the chef was today. I ordered tikka masala and it’s GOD AWFUL – just a bucket of oil that doesnt taste ANYTHING like tikka masala – it’s so gross I’m super dissapointed I honestly can’t even eat it.
And to top it all off I ordered the veg samosas and asked for EXTRA chimi churro and they gave me 1/10th if a tiny cup – really??
1/10 I’d leave 0 if I could – never coming back here again
Buyer beware
Do better

Ok, having a collection of Indian friends, this is a sensitive topic. Ive eaten my share of Indian cuisine these past 4 years, so I am speaking from a place of understanding good from a Texas born perspective. So, I like the food. That’s my answer. I always order the chicken biryani and naan and sometimes the Curry’s. The owners remember me, the prices are comparable and the specials are great. I try to get the food every other week despite living 17 miles south.
