First and most importantly, we had Cody F as a waiter and he was wonderful. So sweet, and provided wonderful service – he deserves five stars!

Food was a little pricey for a hotel restaurant, but was all very delicious. We would come back because of the great service and unique food offerings for sure! But I’m a bit worried this place won’t last long with the fine dining price point. This is not a place we’d be able to afford regularly and I have a feeling if they came down on their prices just a little bit they would reach a much broader population, especially for the location and the traffic coming through there. This was also apparent when on a Friday night we were one of three couples that were in the restaurant for a couple hours. Our waiter recommended the house made chocolate torte cake, and it was probably one of the best desserts I have ever had. Highly recommend! Truly hope this place can stick around!!

We finally decided to check this place out. We really had high expectations. The service and atmosphere was great. The food was okay. Not bad, not great. Its worth checking out. We plan to give them another try when they receive they’re liquor license

It was my first time visiting the restaurant. I went to a private party in a nice quiet beautiful room. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The menu was a fusion of flavors. If you are into that kind of cuisine you may enjoy this menu. The waiter was very nice but seemed like he could’ve used some help with taking orders and serving our party that was in the private room. The food was priced on the high end for the quality and flavors. I am not drawn to return based just on the flavors of the dishes I tried. I had tried appetizers and salad and a couple bites of the shrimp and grits. None of what I had tried were up to my standards for flavor or menu options. If the menu is changed I may try again. I’m going to give them the benefit of just opening and may try again a few months from now after looking to see if menu is changed at all.

Decided to check Somos out this evening and the food and service were amazing! We got whipped queso fresco, short rib quesadilla, homemade sweet corn ice cream, and almendrados (cookies) with lemon curd. We will definitely be back.

Solid food and gorgeous atmosphere!

FYI they don’t have a liquor license yet and might not until May 2026.

I really wanted to love this place …. Byron Center needs creative food in an elevated environment so badly!

The good:
– the food was inventive, Latin fusion. My husband and I had the Cuban sandwich and the fish tacos. Both were really good.

– the decor is fresh, modern and beautiful. There is a big bar in the heart of the restaurant and a mix of booths and tables around. Will be nice when they get their liquor license.

– Service was friendly

The bad:

– it was 6:30 on a Friday night and there was only one other table besides us. So the energy is not bustling.

– The menu and price points indicate an elevated experience. Yet, when I asked the waiter to give us an overview/tell us about the specials since we had never been there – he had no idea what to do. He said it’s all homemade. He never refilled our waters or soda.

– The staff swept and mopped the floors around us, and dumped big buckets of ice and water as we ate – at 7 pm – then proceeded to bring our food out. The door to the staff lounge and supply area was wide open – made it feel like a truck stop dining experience.

– Management, training, dress codes (baggy sweatshirts on hostess and waiters) are missing and lessen the experience. I don’t want to spend $58 on a steak and have someone mopping around me. It’s weird.

There is also a nice room for private events. Lots of potential, but will need better marketing to make clear what type of restaurant they are and management needs to refine the service standards to make this a dining experience you want to return for.

Super super good. A new favorite for us, we got the duck wings for an appetizer, shrimp and grits, and ribeye for our entree. Everything we had was phenomenal. Cool space with plenty of space and good service. We will be back.

My mom, sister, and I had dinner here on a weeknight, and it was such a lovely experience. When we arrived, we were informed they didn’t yet have their alcohol service available, but we were really there for the food anyway. We were the only guests at 5:00, which was a little surprising but understandable. I ordered the stuffed squash, and every single bite was absolutely amazing! The service was wonderful, the food was clearly prepared with love, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Excellent service from Cody! The food was delicious! Our group shared four small plates to start. The skillet cornbread was so delicious! Three of us ordered mac and cheese, and we were all very happy with our orders. I’d like to see a little more spice added, but I understand it’s Byron Center, so they can’t get too crazy. Maybe include some homemade hot sauce with dishes? The atmosphere needs a little help, but part of that is because the place wasn’t very busy. Prices were very reasonable, too. I’m looking forward to going back and trying the cocktails! Hoping that the BC area will embrace this original, scratch-made food that isn’t also a sports bar like most of the dining options in the area.
