If you’re in Milpitas and craving a fun, sweet dessert experience rather than a full meal, SomiSomi is a solid choice. The specialty waffles + soft serve combo gives you something visually fun and tasty. I’d recommend arriving with a little time to spare to enjoy it before it melts, and maybe try one of the more unique flavor combinations (like ube swirl or black sesame) if you want to go beyond the standard

Fun place for a little treat. Our cup of banana pudding soft serve was extra special with matcha “dust” and a black sesame filling. Very friendly staff. Ice cream texture was a perfectly creamy.

We just got a couple of the regular taiyaki, so I’m giving this a four-star rating based on that.

You order at the counter and wait while they make the little fish-shaped treats. You can watch them prep it—either filling them with sweet, creamy paste like ours, or adding ice cream and toppings. I’ve only tried taiyaki once before in Osaka, Japan, and these were pretty close, though the batter and cooking heat were a little different.

Both flavors we got were good, no complaints there. The waffle part could’ve been crispier, though—it was kind of soft. Not doughy, just not crunchy enough.

It takes a few minutes since they make everything fresh after you order, which is nice. There’s no seating inside, but they’ve got a bench or two outside.

I noticed some people got the fish cones on top of ice cream, and that looked awesome. I’ll probably try that next time.

Tried the Cookie Crumble Ice Cream at this unique spot!
They don’t have a huge variety of flavors, but what stands out is the presentation — the ice cream is served alone with a fish-shaped waffle cone, which is super cute and different.

Cookie Crumble Ice Cream – 4/5
The texture was smooth and soft, and the portion size was generous.
Loved the variety of toppings available, but the cookie crumble flavor could’ve been a bit stronger.

If you’re looking for a fun twist on traditional ice cream, this place is worth a visit!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5 for each AhBoong)
Order 1/2 : Upside Down AhBoong with Dulce De Leche, Nutella filling with Coconut flakes, Captain Crunch, macaron and cocoa pebbles as toppings.

Order 2/2 : Upside Down AhBoong with Matcha Ice cream, Matcha + Custard filling with coconut flakes and macaron as topping.

I got greedy to choose all of the toppings as they were free (but held myself back).

Dulce De Leche was the one. I am lactose intolerant but I did not care about the consequences. It’s a real ice cream and none of that “frozen dessert” vegetable oil gimmick.

Our ice creams look so pretty. Even the spoons, I loved the attention to detail.

Taiyaki is what I order here. They have ice cream flavors here. Favorites are Black Sesame and Red Bean filling for the Taiyaki. Bench sitting area outside. Outside has benches on both side of entrance. This location gets pretty busy.

Service is ok. Order on front and has toppings for ice cream. Can mix Taiyaki with ice cream. Soft serve is what they call it.

Loved the soft serve with the fish shaped waffle. Liked the custard filling better than nutella. Matcha and milk+ube both were great! Ube+milk slightly better though. Tried it with coffee pellets and coconut flakes . Definitely recommend trying your own creative combinations of toppings and fillings. P.S. : They only serve 2 or 5 in count. And you can choose a macaroon or strawberry on top in the end.

Clean and big ice cream shop with tayaki. I ordered the half matcha half milk tea soft serve with a sesame tayaki on top. Toppings are unlimited which was nice. There’s not much seating though.

I’m from Oregon went to San Jose for few days trip. Found this place near my hotel and love it here.

Staff is really friendly and really welcoming. I’m not a big fan of ice cream so I order Taiyaki, love the favor, the texture feels like marshmallow mixed with favor is not too sweet.

Would recommend for dessert after dinner
