Visiting family here in New Mexico, from Detroit Michigan, as soon I walked I was greeted by the waiter, it was pretty packed in here and they still managed to bring out food quickly. The server is attentive and friendly. Food prices are fair ranges anywhere between $7-$13 not bad at all. The fried pickles were ok to thin for my liking, the potato was really good 8/10. The menu has lots of different options, to pasta, spuds and protein bowls. Will take my wife here to try out. I do recommend coming here if you’re visiting portales.

Came back with my wife and daughter and I can say the service was excellent. Percy (don’t know if I am spelling his name right) he was an amazing server, he recommended us to try the green bean fries and they were delicious! He even gave my daughter a quarter to get some candy, really nice of him. Give him a raise and some days off I did hear him say his knee was hurting. Overall I love this place, best restaurant in portales.

My wife, son, and I went here on a Saturday for an early lunch. We were greeted by a very kind manager when we walked in, and he told us to sit wherever we wanted. We were impressed with our server, who gave us some great recommendations on our meal, and we enjoyed our food and had plenty of leftovers. I certainly thought that it was a different menu of items, and it was quite enjoyable. The food was priced decently, and for the quality of the food and the size of the serving, I feel like it was priced in a fair manner. We look forward to going back again in the future, and we were impressed as a whole.

Traveling through and stopped for dinner on a Friday night. No wait to seat 6 of us. Variety of items on the menu, I got the baked potato with green chilies, chicken, and cheese – so good. Prices were so good we decided to also get dessert.
Place was busy. People seated, orders being picked up, some came in to order and wait. Service was good. Would absolutely stop again if in the area.
Of note, the bathrooms are outside. Just outside the restaurant door.

Indoor dining is good but don’t use delivery. Last two time they said it would be an hour. I had to call both times to see where my order was after well over an hour had expired.
My update: went to dine in because I love their Thai salad well my answer was at 5 till 11 with open light on. We’re not open we can sit you but can’t wait on you till till 10 after, and it’ll probably be 20 minutes before your food‘s ready, not even knowing what I wanted to order
Perhaps the young lady should spend less time on her make up and worry more about her customer service that pays her bill

I had the zesty salad and fried zucchini and both items were satisfying. The staff were friendly! We also had a strawberry ice tea which was also good. This place is a bit pricey and overrated though. The one in portales is hands down better though
Edit to add: came back and tried the catfish after seeing a photo online. It’s a 5/10 but the sweet potato fries are amazing.

I’m kind of new in town and the Something Different Grill came highly recommended, so I placed an order online and scheduled it for pickup at 5:15. I arrived at 5:10 and the dining room was almost empty. There were just a couple of tables occupied, but there were two or three other people standing around, presumably waiting for their takeout orders too. I was then told there is about a 30 minute wait. Rather than potentially wait until 5:45 for an order I was supposed to pick up at 5:15, I canceled it.
Not a very good first impression. It will be a good long while before I try again.
