A total hidden gem! I had the most delicious and fresh glazed donuts and phenomenal iced coffee. The owners couldn’t be sweeter or more welcoming and the decor was lovely – modern, clean and cute. I was impressed with the variety of not only donuts but also pastries and savory breakfast items. Most of all, though, I was impressed by the amazing service of this sweet family owned business.

Ordered online for pickup. We got two mochas and some donuts. Got devils food cake and apple fritter. They were both good. I didn’t notice the matcha or Ube when I ordered online but they looked really good when I saw them in the store. Will have to go back to try those.

Somethin’ Sweet Donuts is a fantastic immigrant-owned business to support and an essential stop for anyone in Albany Park. Fresh & well-made donuts – the matcha and Ube donuts are especially great flavors to try, and they don’t skimp on the filling! The new location on Montrose is a gorgeous space, full of thoughtful decor and family photos. Their coffee is also 10/10 – so citrus-y and balanced. It’s sourced from Big Shoulders, a woman-owned coffee supplier in Chicago, so you can support two great businesses at once. They’re also nut-free – great for folks with nut allergies. Can’t recc this place enough!

New (to us) donut shop in Albany Park. Lots of options- sweet and some savory. The classics (old fashioned and plain glazed) were solid.

What I noticed about this Albany Park establishment, is that it’s a neghborhood staple. Many people come in here weekly with their families, prior to starting their Saturday festivities.
First thing you notice is that their offerings are unique to the owner’s heritage. Matcha and ube (purple yam) filled bismark donuts are a specialty. But even their regular donuts are very good!!
This is a big winner, but there are some places that I feel are just as good if not slightly better. That’s not to say that if I lived closer that this would not be my “go to”.
A solid 4.5⭐️s. Owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. If ever in this area again, will try more of their baked goods!

Cute store with tasty donuts and coffee. I had a chocolate covered old fashioned that had perfectly crunchy edges and fluffy interior. I live that they serve big shoulders coffee. Will definitely be returning. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood!

We love that this place is a peanut-free donut shop! The iced latte was delicious and the donuts were good! Plus the service was great. Very cute place.

This new location is fantastic. I’m not really a donut guy, but the Matcha Bismarck has converted me — it’s one of the tastiest donuts I’ve ever eaten. I’m normally a 1-3 donuts a year guy, but I’ve had 3 matcha Bismarcks this month alone.

Something Sweet is usually awesome — their donuts are homemade and the service is always great. But today was really disappointing. For $15, my donuts were just tossed into a bag instead of properly packaged, which I’ve never experienced here before. I hope this was just a one-off (maybe a shortage?), because if I wanted under-par presentation I could’ve gone to Dunkin’.
