I was starving after walking the battlefield all day, and I had not eaten breakfast. I decided Mexican food would hit this spot, and Sombreros came up on my search.
The place was empty and I decided to sit in the bar. It looked comfier. It was nicely decorated. I sat down and a lady brought me chips and a chilled carafe of salsa. The chips tasted good but the salsa was very sour.
I ordered some enchiladas that were stuffed with carnitas and covered with a green sauce and crumbled chorizo. I also ordered a small side of guacamole. The food arrived pretty quick.
The first bites of everything were heavenly. I was so hungry. Especially the guacamole. But…after the first few famished bites, everything started to taste so, so salty. So salty that I was swigging Corona after each bite. It was kind of disappointing. Service was friendly and efficient.

I love the food here but the girl with the long black hair is always so damn rude. I keep hoping it’s just a phase but it seems this is just how she is. Getting a little tired of being a customer being treated like crap. No complaints about the workers they are always so great but this one is a real downer.

The food at Sombreros was excellent! We were served complimentary chips and salsa, which were delicious! We decided to add on the small cheese dip. It was a little watery, but I thought it was still very tasty. We tried the steak taco, cheese quesadilla, and the fiesta fajitas. Everything was great and better than expected! The atmosphere was pretty typical, as was the service.

My fiancé and I were having dinner here celebrating the fact we are getting married this Saturday and we were very disappointed when our server showed up. At first it was a very seemingly nice older Hispanic woman I told her I was allergic to salsa and she asked no salsa but our actual server showed up, a younger redish brown haired girl with glasses was extremely rude to her and told her she got our table and then proceeded to act like our order and us being there were an inconvenience to her night. My fiancé asked for a water with his shot of captain Morgan and she came back and slammed his glass down and took our IDs with attitude and never once did she smile at us. I work in customer service and understand it can get stressful but that is the life of being in customer service. You never take your hard day out on customers. It upset me because I just wanted to unwind after a very hard week at work. I still stayed very nice to her and tried to understand but it was just rude and killed the vibe and mood of the night. Please do better.

We tried 3 different Mexican restaurants and finally went here. Ordered a Sombre-Rita pitcher on Monday Margarita 1/2 price day. Delicious! Able to share among 3 people. Service was excellent. Ate taco salad and it was fresh and tasty.

Been going here for years even when it was just a burrito shop or before it was a full service Mexican restaurant they are usually booming Friday/Saturday night, regular guests and with the Hardin countys got talent but this time it sat a little different 3 out of 4 of my guests food was wrong poorly prepared my waitress even seen my plate was just picked at and was the wrong food but didn’t know that until the ticket was on the table I paid the lady at the counter and walked away. Ain’t the sombreros I used to know

It took our server a good 10-15 minutes to get to our table. Once she arrived, she seemed extremely frustrated that another server hadn’t helped us and that we were an inconvenience. She eventually took our food orders. After the food was dropped off, we were never checked on or offered drink refills. We had to find another server to get boxes and requested our check. When our server came over, she seemed really confused on what we even needed. There was another table who was seated 10-15 minutes after us, received their food at the same time (with a sizzling plate of fajitas. The fajitas we received were not sizzling and were room temp like the food had sat under the heat lamp for a bit), and left 10 minutes before we even received our check. The food tasted fine and the atmosphere was cute, but I’m not sure we will be back. Really disappointed since the parking lot always seems full.
