The service has been exceptional and they are so incredibly graceful and kind. I recently took my nephew who has never had real sushi before, and they went out of their way to boost his confidence and gave him very thoughtful tips. He left full and happy!
Give them a chance; you’ll be glad you did. It’s well worth the drive if you’re in the downtown core, as it’s likely better than any sushi you’ll find downtown, uptown, or anywhere else in the GTA.
We talked about going to the Newmarket location and finally did, and the chef and his wife remembered us after all these years!! It was so nice to catch up, everything was the same as we remembered.
This is the most unpretentious sushi restaurant. Their focus is on high quality food and ingredients, not on being cutting-edge or trendy or innovative. Delicious, authentic food for fair prices in a cozy atmosphere with kind staff. We’re looking forward to our next visit!
Remember to bring cash, cards are not accepted.
Service is not pushy and left our party comfortably in peace , but maybe too little attention as chef was busy the whole time we were there and there was nobody else checking on us. That has its good and its bad I suppose but definitely has plenty of room to improve. (7/10)
As mentioned the decor brings back nostalgia memories of old time sushi restaurants, the serving plate is very nice, points added for attention to these details. (8/10)
It’s a small but very cozy restaurant and you feel the warm vibe when you go inside.
It was my 2nd visit and I enjoyed it as the first one that was many years ago.
Everything is made from fresh ingredients.
And it seems the owner is doing everything there, including taking your order, preparing the food, cashing out and even getting order by phone He surprised us by saying welcome in our mother language .
We tried Asahi (as the traditional beer) and Plum Wine that was very sweet (so I recommend it to people who likes very sweet drinks).
Tuna Sashimi and Avocado Salad as an Appetizer, were very fresh and delicious.
The Assorted Tempura was very delightful and tasty but it came very late even after our second time main order.
Red Dragon and Spider Roll maki were good and big, they come at 8 pieces. I liked Red Dragon better than Spider Roll.
I really enjoyed my time there .
