Fantastic spot. Great vibes, great food, and great drinks.

I wish I got the server’s name, but he was terrific.

h, MAN, do I wish there was a restaurant like Solbird Kitchen & Tap closer to home.

On a recent visit to Fort Wayne my wife and I were trying to figure out where to have dinner. Our son-in-law asked “Have you tried Solbird? They have amazing tacos!”. Wellll…that’s all that took!

The decor at Solbird is nicely done. It’s not bright and flashy. It’s not overdone. It’s not obnoxious. There’s enough to give the place some ambiance without being overwhelming. It’s dignified and suits the establishment.

Solbird has a combination tables: bar seating, high tops, and regular height table. We’re always high top sitters.

Oh, and can we talk about these chairs? At least the tall chairs? Those things are HEAVY! If I’d have known they were that heavy I’d have eaten Cheerios® for breakfast.

Our server was a very delightful young lady named Soleil (yes, like the actress Soleil Moon Frye). She was amazingly fun and just….cool.

I’m not going to lie. My son-in-law mentioned the Mexican Poutine and that’s all it took to get me in the door. My wifey was interested in the Korean tacos.

Our food was delivered hot — VERY hot — and accurate, and I couldn’t get the Mexican Poutine in my belly! It was 100% delicious in a way that I did not see coming, and I’m guessing that was the Chorizo. It made it AWESOME.

The staff (all women as far as we saw) were all friendly, helpful, and always busy cleaning and stocking.

The overhead music was 80s and 90s and was at a perfect level and not overwhelmingly loud. It gave the restaurant an upbeat, fun vibe.

There’s a sign on the door that says that no one under 21 is allowed to enter. I don’t if that’s an absolute, or that you can’t eat here if you have kids under 21. No matter, I don’t object to a restaurant having a rule like that. It’s not an altogether bad thing to have adults-only establishments.

Yea, if there was a Solbird close to home I’d be there every night…which makes it a good thing that it’s about 4 hours away. 🙂

Delicious food!!! The owner (Jerry) also took a current keg that was more or less empty off for us to put a sour on as we love sour beers. Exemplary service from our server Mya and can’t stress enough how good the food is!! Highly recommended if you are in the Fort Wayne area!!!

Not our first time nor will it be our last. The place is a vibe, everything from the vibrant art on the walls, the Sculptures to the amazing music. The food and service is always on point. I always have to try the tacos so I splurge and get a choice of 3, all are so full of flavor (the Korean BBQ taco was by far my favorite) . The bf got the cheeto burrito which is smothered in their homemade queso. You have a working owner who greets you like family and is so funny and welcoming. You’re missing out if you don’t give this place and their awesome food a try!

Met a friend for dinner. It had been a couple years since my last visit. We were quickly seated. Our server seemed overwhelmed although they weren’t very busy, maybe new at the job.
We had spicy margaritas and kimchi fries with tacos.
Prices were good, Food was hot and delicious. While our server was struggling, other staff stepped up to help, making sure water was filled and chips replenished.
Fun place to catch up with a friend. Would recommend.

It’s actually pretty difficult to make really good tacos. Solbird nails it. Perfect balance of ingredients and flavors. The Korean beef was my fav but they were all great. Green rice is a winner. I knew the place was going to be good when I heard Fearless by Pink Floyd playing when I walked in. Solbird also wins the best ambient music award

Chaz did a great job serving us. Jalapeño margarita hit the spot. Shrimp pesto quesadillas…iykyk! Pork carnitas bowl was enough for 3 people. Of course, the guacamole with the homemade chips were my favorite. Jerry, always a pleasure to see❤️

Visited Sol Bird kitchen and tap for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I know this place has a food truck and so if you see it around town I recommend that you stop. I got a rice bowl with pork and I thought it was very good. I had a decent amount of meat mixed with the vegetables, pineapple, and of course the rice. Rice. Everything was tasty and for $14 is about where everybody else is for a decent lunch these days. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try any of the beer on tap but that gives me an excuse to go back and try one.

I’ve been to Solbird five or six times since they opened and tried something new each visit; I have never been disappointed. Being a sucker for queso has prevented me from trying the salsa until this weekend and I’m here to say that it is the best salsa I have ever tasted in my life. Combined with their generously seasoned, housemaid tortilla chips that are somehow thick yet light and crisp and bursting with flavor, it’s a real winner. The service is genuine and friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing and the only negative thing I will say is the tall tables chairs are not great. They are extremely heavy and hard to move in and out, and uncomfortable on your butt.
