Sole Osteria is truly a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is absolutely delicious. The owner and staff brings so much heart to the restaurant. His personality shines through from the moment you walk in he greets guests with such warmth, respect, and genuine hospitality. You can tell he takes great pride in both his food and the experience he creates for his guests. The best restaurant I have been to in a while. The food is amazing very interesting twist to Italian cuisine. The chef is so nice and charismatic, makes you feel so welcomed and cared for. I wanna start off I think I really liked the restaurant. I really liked the staff. They were attentive and courteous. When I arrived, the host offered me a table by the door, which I refused, offered me another smaller table. I asked for a table in the second room, he said I had not confirmed my reservation, which was entirely not true. I did and I had the emails to prove it, but that’s OK. I noticed some tables had table cloths, Some did not. I was told they are in transitioning to no tablecloth which I think is a huge mistake. A restaurant of this caliber and prices should warrant tablecloths. I like the menu. I thought it was slightly limited, but that’s OK to wear enough things on it to enjoy. I gave my order to my waiter for my appetizer and pasta course, but asked to put in my main which I really did not want to do, I think he said the kitchen was small and busy. I will say I did enjoy my food immensely I thought the portions are good. If I weren’t rushed into ordering, I would not have had a $57 beef short rib to go, I would prefer to eat it as presented. My issue is being rushed and for $57 short rib it was a very small portion, but I will say even heated at home, it was excellent and tasty. I did substitute out for Excellent roasted potatoes, on their advice and they actually charged me for it which I thought was weak. I didn’t know it sounded otherwise I’d have objected.
I will definitely return but please for an almost $60 main course. You have to make it worthwhile not the greatest value there and please do not get rid of the tablecloth and do not rush your customers. See you soon. I hope you read this.

I went here with my office colleagues for a holiday dinner, hoping for a fine‑dining experience. The place was packed and had a pleasant ambience. We ordered the Mediterraneo, mushrooms, and Finissima di Agnello for appetizers, followed by the Branzino and Beef Short Ribs for the main course.
The quality of the food is very high — comparable to what you’d find at top NYC restaurants. A few dishes were surprisingly flavorful. However, the pricing doesn’t match the portion sizes. One highlight was the chef personally coming out to greet us and check on our satisfaction, which added a nice touch to the evening.
We paid $460 for three people, without any alcoholic drinks. If you want to try something different — especially if the company is paying — it’s worth a visit once. But it’s not a place I’d return to on my own.

Gosh that was really really really good. Each dish was delicious! The service and ambience were wonderful. I can’t get enough of everything that we ate this evening- the arancini ( the sauce almost had us licking the plate), the caccio e pepe (we’ve tried others and this was the best we’ve had), the duck! (Absolutely delightful), the short rib (nomnomnom) and the pear muffin (was nothing what we expected and was everything we wanted). We’ll definitely be back for more. Thank you for the most wonderful parents’ night out.

First time here. Certainly a very attentive host. Upon reviewing the menu, we were quite taken aback by the pricing. Their appetizers pricey. The $35 ceviche was unique and pretty good but certainly did not blow us away. The $37 octopus and shrimp appetizer was a joke. Sure it was unique, but for $37, to see two tiny little pieces of octopus is unacceptable. Our friends got the Cod and the ossobuco entrees each priced at $57! We each got a different pasta entree. Tiny portions with almost no seafood at all in these Seafood oriented pastas
We dine out a lot. We love good food. We hate going somewhere and leaving hungry. The preparation here was unique I give them that. But it wasn’t amazing, it wasn’t enough to eat, and it surely was not worth the price. If in Ridgewood certainly we are better off to stick with the exceptional food at the Village Green

What a pleasant surprise! We were there last week for an engagement party and never expected to find a Michelin Star chef and a fine dining experience at an afternoon lunch. Sola Osteria is a true gem in Ridgewood. I can’t speak to the portion sizes of a regular dinner entrée because we had the good fortune of tasting tapas size portions of almost the entire menu. Each dish was unique in its preparation, presentation and filled with fresh hand selected ingredients. I’m a huge eggplant fan and the eggplant parmesan was the best I’ve ever had. The lasagna with bechamel sauce and chunks of sausage was delicious while the meatballs tasted like they came from my grandmother’s kitchen. The pork belly and the airline chicken were both tender and juicy. Chef Massimo was very attentive visiting each table and discussing his preparations. He shocked one of our guests by offering gluten free entrees as well. By the time dessert was served I was in a food comma but still loved the homemade tiramisu, panna cotta, crème brule, and gelato. It’s bring your own but they supply fine glassware. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable restaurant experience.

The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten at fabulous restaurants. The atmosphere what’s really good but was loud because of so many people but that’s a good thing. I will definitely be back on occasions and dates. Best restaurant and very convenient location! Love the family and staffs hospitality
