SOL Southwest Kitchen is a family-friendly establishment featuring indoor & outdoor dining, food with bold Southwest flavors and “just juiced” cocktails. Our made-from-scratch dedication has made SOL a local favorite since 2013. SOL blends bold flavors of the Southwest with our own Southern culinary influences. We like to keep things fresh. With a focus on dishes that let seasonal ingredients and select spices shine. The real star of our kitchen is our wood fire grill, and all menu items—from sauces to salsas to handcrafted cocktails—start from scratch and are made to order. All tequilas are 100% agave, citrus fruits are juiced daily, and avocados aren’t cut until you order guacamole.
Mexican plates with Southwest flair & margaritas are the draw at this stylish outpost with a patio.

My wife had the chicken enchiladas, which came in a generous portion, but the flavor was just average. Not bad, not great. My chicken sandwich was fine, but frankly, I’d prefer Chick-fil-A over it in terms of flavor. On the other hand, our son ordered a cheeseburger and he really enjoyed it.
Service was solid, attentive but not overbearing. Drinks were good, and we sat outside, which was nice thanks to the pleasant weather. There was some road noise, but it didn’t ruin the atmosphere. The indoor space looked very nice as well, so that’s something we might consider for next time.
In summary, it was an acceptable experience, but not one we’d rush to repeat. Worth a try if you’re nearby, but there are better spots in town if you’re looking for standout flavors.
In the winter it can get a little loud inside. Sound bounces off the concrete floor. Outside can’t be beat for 3 season enjoyment.
Wanted to update my review. SOL probably has the best steak quesadilla in the low country. I know. You are going to say “dude. What about Taco Boy??!” Yes Taco Boy is brilliant. And they do a lot of things top notch. I am not saying SOL is #1 above and beyond everyone else, but if you are in the 29466 and you find you need some good Tex Mex – stop in. Also if you like this kind of thing just learned they make their own jalapeño infused tequila. Wife loved it.
We also had the apple empaniada for dessert. Nicely cooked with smaller chunks of apple. All in all happy with our choice to go here!
The server was polite and friendly and the service was excellent.
I would highly recommend.
For Lunch on Saturday it was empty, 1 big table, and 2 couples at 2 booths. Our Waitress was attentive and pretty much spot on and the positive in this review.
I first laughed at the 1/2” board menu she handed us which you better be ready for because they’re 5 lbs. ♂️
Food- let me just say I know it’s Mt P and higher in the area but their prices are pricy and No free chips and salsa here folks. $8 if you want them. We ordered 1 chik taco and 1 shrimp Taco. They were good but $7 ea is Crazy! About $1.20-$1.50 food cost per taco, they are priced quite high. The chicken quesadilla was good but again, at $17 we were in sticker shock And that’s with no sides. We had an appetizer and 3 drinks. Total with tip was over $65.
Atmosphere- was ok but felt large empty and cold. restaurants should be warm and inviting, it isn’t.
It raised an eyebrow how dead it was for lunch.
Wait staff- was great and on point. Loved the check in and refilling and not over bearing. Best part of the visit.
Overall it was an experience. Food was ok but nothing to talk to our friends and neighbors about. Whether this helps or not I believe SOL owners would benefit reviewing their price point. There’s no way a family of 5 is dropping $100 on Mexican and thinking about coming back any time soon. You are better off selling 20 tacos at $5 than 4 at $7. We tried it but won’t be back for 2nds.
