We went to Sol Cocina last night. We loved it in the past when it was in Pawleys Island. My goodness it’s as good as ever! Our server Erin was warm and welcoming and greeted us right away. She let us take our time ordering drinks and then our food. And throughout dinner she was attentive filling our waters and getting more drinks as needed. Blood orange margaritas were amazing and the Dos Equis for the beer drinkers in our group were ice cold. Guacamole made at the table was so delicious and she left the cilantro for those of us who wanted it.
Without a doubt it’s the best Mexican food in the Grand Strand area. I had a special- the bone-in pork chop, seared and seasoned to perfection. It was surrounded by chipotle sauce and jalapeño seasoned rice. Rick had lamb chops (also a special), Karen had chicken and Sue chicken enchiladas. All were so good! We highly recommend. We will be back soon.

We came to Sol for our first wedding anniversary dinner, and it couldn’t have been better. The food was amazing. We had the tamales, the steak surf and turf, and the creamy chipotle pork chop, and every dish was packed with flavor. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh. The salsa was incredible—hands down some of the freshest we’ve had.
Overall, such a great experience and a perfect spot for a special night out. We’ll definitely be back!

The food is incredible. Very high quality chef prepared Mexican food… Thought prepared dishes. The owner was very friendly and spoke to us for a while. His personality is reflected in the quality of the dishes he serves. It is clear that he cares. Definitely a new favorite stop of ours! Highly recommended. Especially if you appreciate finer, (more authentic), traditional style dishes.

You wouldn’t know from my rating how picky I am. I had met people from the restaurant and then I looked it up and sounded pretty good. My best friend and I went there tonight and were just amazed at everything. Perfect decor, fun but not trite, everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was not only cooked to perfection with very unique and well-balanced flavors but was beautifully presented as well. We splurged and had a drink, the meal, AND dessert, which we don’t usually do. Definitely try this place out.

This place was truly a surprise. It is NOT your typical cheap, heaping cheese filled Mexican. It is gourmet food cooked with pride and served exquisitely. The chef personally came around to make sure our meals were exceptional. I will be back ASAP!!!!
