Sol Agave serves up authentic Mexican cuisine to San Clemente, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and San Juan Capistrano, CA. The concept began as a 17-foot food truck in 2014 and has grown tremendously over the years into several restaurant locations in Southern California and a location in American Fork, UT! We are proud to serve our guests contemporary and healthy Mexican dishes.

Generous dishes are matched by tequila flights & craft margaritas at this laid-back Mexican eatery.

We were in town and had a craving for Mexican food. Hoping for inside seating and a nice vibe, we found this place and and what a gem. Everything about our experience was perfect – the food, the service, the atmosphere. Pictures are the chilaquiles with carnitas and mole from the brunch menu, carnitas plate, and the chile Colorado. We also recommend the margarita flight, it was delightful. The menu is so diverse so we will return a lot to experience everything this awesome restaurant has to offer.

My boyfriend and I had one of the most incredible meals we have ever had together here (and we are foodies so that means a lot!). Our server Alejo was so kind and attentive. Even when things got busy he was constantly checking on us and clearing away plates. We had multiple other staff members check up on us as well during our dinner. We felt like valued customers, which is definitely a rare thing these days.
In terms of the food, we had the best horchata, dessert (butter cake), and fish tacos that we have had. The butter cake was easily the highlight. Honestly speechless, it was just that good.

We stopped in for our first time and tried the sugar cane filets, calamari and finished it off with the famous butter cake. Our server Ken was an amazing waiter with perfect etiquette! He took amazing care of us. It is very difficult to find a restaurant with excellent service and food. This is the place. I would highly recommend making this a date night cause your significant other won’t be disappointed. The butter cake is a must so be sure to save room. (Sorry we jumped the gun and started enjoying the sugar cane filets by the time we started taking pictures. )

Sol Agave had a high rating and it deserves more than 5 stars. Very nice in outer appearance with a fancy interior which signals an upscale experience. Pricy menu so decided to order Chefs Famous Carnitas and Taquiza to share. Sol Agave is an exceptional restaurant. When the complimentary chips and salsa isn’t the usual Mexican fare, you know the entrees will be special. The carnitas special was a huge piece of fork-tender pork with guacamole, sour cream, pickled onion, a sauce, two corn and two flour tortillas. Delicious! This is high quality, well presented, satisfying gourmet Mexican food.

I loved this place. The flavors and the portions were completely on point. So many neat and unique options available. Had a bunch of appies, and then the Brilla whic was a huge chunk of meat. The butter cake was amazing too.

Jasna was such a thoughtful and amazing server, turned on the heater for me, and was so kind. The food was delicious! The ceviche was a 10 and I loved the sugar can filet. We also loved the chile verde and finished it off with butter cake. Come. Try. Enjoy. Thanks

I’ve always heard Sol Agave was super over priced and I generally think most Mexican cuisine can be made at home for cheaper, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this was not the case here! I don’t think there was anything in the menu that I could have made at home. While it was expensive food, it was unique and delicious! I had the Lobster enchiladas and of course, the famed Butter Cake, plus a few appetizers and everything was incredible!

My only complaint is that we had a group of about 8 people and about half the group ordered the Carnitas. They brought the carnitas plates out early because they are faster to prepare, but it took another 10-15min it’s to bring out the rest of the food. That is a massive amount of time for us to either watch the rest of the group eat or for the group to let their food go cold. I can understand a difference of a few minutes, but this felt like an eternity, hence the four stars.

I’m not sure I would ever go back because of the price tag, but I understand why people enjoy dining here and I don’t think it was too expensive.

GREAT dinner! We have been to the one in slc and comparatively, this one feels more relaxed. It’s an unhurried environment even though it’s a FRIDAY NIGHT and they are PACKED! Got everyone seated fairly quick. The service (our waiter was Shaley), was amazing. We even asked to move seats at the beginning because I was cold and they were SUPER accommodating, even though seating was tight. We got the chicken taco appetizer and the birria tacos meal. Both 10/10. Also what???? Who has mouthwash in their bathrooms???! This is a must have on date night after eating tacos with onions. Such a nice touch.

This place is fantastic! The flavors and the colors of the entrées are insanely good and the atmosphere is excellent! It is a bit pricey, but the food is extremely delicious and terrific quality! Anyone that goes need to get the butter cake too, that is a must!

Love sol agave! Went for a second time tonight and the food is always sensational! The chips and dip are to die for, and everything I’ve tried from the menu has exceeded expectations ✨

The first dining experience was in their indoor lower light seating with smaller table sizes and it was great, but unfortunately tonight, we were sat in the add on room and had two larger groups around us, and unfortunately the acoustics of that room with the large groups made it hard to hear my husband well across the table. I totally get that dining groups can vary, along with noise levels, that is totally normal.

I will always always be a returning customer, but was trying to celebrate my husbands birthday, one on one, and was tricky when we were a duo in a large group seating area.

Best server we’ve ever had was Andrea, and drew tonight was great as well will be coming back for my birthday this year for sure!
