This place was a wonderful surprise. I don’t know how we didn’t find them sooner. I loved their Spicy Jjampong Ramen and the Chicken Kara Age was amazing. My husband loved the pork katsu and couldn’t get enough of the side of curry. The staff was very kind and passionate about their food. We are definitely going back!

We just went back. I got the bimbimbap, the tacos, and the mochi dessert. Two words: life changing

Soho 23 is our favorite, favorite place in all of Fargo to go to get the best most flavorful cuisine we have ever had. A very welcoming and friendly place. You can pick anything off of the menu and its so good. If you like tofu……the Tofu Hibachi is very flavorful and made perfectly. For a perfect end to a great meal is the Mochi cake.

Soho 23 is a hidden gem in Fargo, blending Japanese and Korean flavors in a way that feels both comforting and creative. It makes sense when you think about it — Japanese cooking brings a precision and balance of flavors, while Korean cuisine leans into bold spices, marinades, and fermented sides. Together, the two traditions make for a fusion that’s hearty, vibrant, and fun to eat.

Everything we tried here was fantastic. The calamari was perfectly fried — light, crisp, and paired with sliced grilled peppers. The Yum sauce and garlic lime sauce each added their own twist and showed off the house-made attention to detail.

We had the pork belly thanks to a local tip (it’s not on the menu), and it was the star of the night. Thin strips of pork belly wrapped in lettuce with rice, ssamjang, and sesame oil sauce really hit the spot. The owner also brought out her own homemade kimchi, which added a zesty, tangy pop.

The sunomono (pickled cucumber dish) was crisp and refreshing, a perfect palate cleanser. The chicken katsu was golden, tender, and balanced beautifully with its sweet-savory sauce and Japanese curry — a dish that reminded me why katsu is such a beloved comfort food.

Even dessert was special: a green tea ice cream brûlée with a smoky caramelized crust, paired with a warm mochi cake fresh from the oven. Eating them together in one bite was a highlight — chewy and spongy mochi balanced with the delicate matcha and blueberries.

What sets Soho 23 apart is the owner herself. She cooks everything from scratch using family recipes, with no shortcuts, and it shows. You can taste the love and tradition in every dish. For Fargo, having a Korean-Japanese restaurant of this quality feels rare, and it’s absolutely worth seeking out.

Holy crap it was good.

I don’t know how I’ve never found them before, ramen was great, pork katsu with the curry was perfect.

I got one word to describe my experience and that is “amazing”. My eldest wanted to try the restaurant so we did. As we get in we were greeted by a waitress and she assisted us to our seats, she got our drinks and was served immediately. An older gentleman took our order, since we are new (not regular)he explained to us how to eat our food to get maximum experience. My family truly enjoyed the meal, except for me, I LOVE IT. I didn’t even notice till my husband told me I was making noises as I chew, like a little girl making nummm nummm noises. A beautiful lady checked on us if we need anything else without us asking she said she will bring us a set of lettuce for our meals, she was so nice and her smile says it all.
It’s not just the food that we had a great experience, the people were amazing too, they are friendly and welcoming. I can finally say, I found my favorite place to eat. We are definitely going back there.

Stopped here because we’ve passed by it a few times and wanted to try some Asian cuisine other than Thai. It was a hit. My Bf thoroughly enjoyed all the food we had, I specifically was delighted with the Calamari. Staff was really attentive and friendly! Setting is spacious and inviting, definitely good for bigger groups. Not busy as at all. Prices were reasonable. Would return and would recommend.

Absolutely loved our meal. We tried salt & pepper calamari, shrimp calamari jalapeño fried rice, garlic shrimp noodles, and the beef bulgogi and a desert they had that evening. I loved the dipping sauce that came with the bulgogi so much. Dishes came with the most delicious miso soup ahead of time. Everything was perfectly prepared, portions were huge, and the owners were so kind. We had fun conversations and loved every minute of our first visit tonight. Would highly recommend their restaurant. We will definitely be back.

I absolutely loved this place. My wife and I had heard that it was amazing, but we were still in awe! The service was excellent, they asked if we had any questions, checked in, and made the entire experience a must in the Fargo area. Food was top notch. They had options for all kinds of tastes!

The waitress was extremely kind,my wife ordered the Kung pao spaghetti, mild and she said it was still too hot, so I switched it for my beef bulgoki, I thought the beef was better, but enjoyed the shrimp too.
