First time at Sogo and it was so go(od). Actually it was better than good. Each hand roll was perfectly rolled, full of flavor, and all the fish was deliciously fresh. Outdoor seating area is a quaint vibe, and the staff was very kind. My personal favorites were the yellowtail, toro, and salmon. Clears Kazu if we’re being honest. Will be back soon.

Crispy crab rice rolls were my fav. Honestly every item was a tier but yellow tail is SS tier. It’s a discreet little place, but with big flavor. Watch out for the bathroom it does not lock ha ha

I had walked by this place multiple times and just on a random Sunday I decided to stop for lunch and best decision ever. They were not busy on a Sunday at 2 pm but it quickly picked up. The staff was very accommodating to my mood to move tables. But now the good part, the food is excellent. I did the 4 roll set, the snapper and yellowtail rolls are my new favorite. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back. Also everything is priced very modestly, I can see why I saw regulars pop in and out doing pick up.

The ingredients are fresh and the taste is good. The atmosphere is good, and you can eat at the bar inside or at a table outside. I ate outside, and the atmosphere was fine. Except for the occasional bird droppings on the chairs…. Parking around here is a bit difficult. The price is a bit expensive, but the food tastes good, so it’s okay. The service is not bad, but I wish it was a bit more friendly.

We go here once a week basically at this point. It has become a whole food group of it’s own separate from just “are we in the mood for sushi tonight”. If I budget NO other fun things, I will STILL work sogo into the budget. These are the best hand rolls I’ve had in LA – the most consistent, the most decadent, the most flavorful. The service is outstanding. They have our orders pretty much memorized at this point, and go out of their way to make the place feel cozy and true to the Los Feliz neighborhood vibe. I wish I could reach through this computer and shake you and make you understand just how good this place is. But since I can’t, please just go here and see what I’m talking about so they can continue to thrive forever and ever. long live SOGO!

Small low-key neighborhood sushi bar specializing in hand rolls. For a very decent price of ~$30, you can get a set of 4-5 rolls. The fish is quality, the flavoring balanced, and the hand rolls are delicately handcrafted. Small place with only counter seating inside and a nice patio outside, but a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Certainly gives high end feel at not-so-high-end prices!

From the moment we were seated on the patio, our experience was disappointing. The gentleman who served us was noticeably curt and rushed us to place our order. After that, we received no attention for the remainder of the meal.
When last call was announced, we understood the need to wrap up service. However, although we were not the only guests still dining, we were repeatedly pressed to close our tab and were ultimately told the restaurant was closing in a manner that felt abrupt and uncomfortable. The manner in which this was communicated — including interrupting our table while other guests were still dining — made us feel singled out and unwelcome.
Unfortunately, the service experience overshadowed the meal itself, including the unthoughtful rice-to-fish ratio

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sogo Roll Bar in Los Angeles, and I must say it was an exceptional sushi experience! From the moment I walked in, the modern and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a delightful meal. A perfect blend of flavors and textures. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was great. The attention to detail in each roll demonstrated the chef’s dedication to delivering top-notch sushi.
Overall, Sogo Roll Bar exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their menu. If you’re a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic dining experience in Los Angeles, I highly recommend giving Sogo Roll Bar a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Super cute and extremely tasty roll bar! Service is friendly and quick, and the roll sets come out one at a time so you have time to savor each one! Very affordable too for decently large portions of fish in the rolls! I think the yellowtail was my favorite but it’s hard to say.
Def will be back for work lunch more often.

If you’re looking for gigantic, fat rolls. This place ain’t it. However, if you are there to experience what a sushi roll would be like if you were eating it in Tokyo, then this is a must-have experience.
The rolls are compact and tightly packed, with the fish shining out as the main star and the slightly nutty sushi rice serving as the backup quartet, unmistakably present but not overpowering the fish’s lead role.
Atmosphere is zen-like, punctuated with 50’s and 60’s hits, creating a pleasant contrast to the ambiance, breaking the stereotype of a sushi house.
Overall, if you’re looking for a dinner that combines flavor with minimalist elegance (I dare say!) Definitely, try this place. Also, the staff is so amazing, with special shoutouts to the host and the host/food-attendant(?). They were very attentive and knowledgeable. I’m definitely going back.
