Absolutely delicious food and its own mix on a variety of Persian cuisine. Service was great with thoughtful staff. Only note I would make is that we were 5people for a 6person reservation and they charged us 20$ ( yes I agreed to it when I made reso but this change is completely normal for dinner). I told them immediately when we arrived. This is despite the table really only being for 5 people to begin with. 5 stars for everything but management. I would give it 2 stars. The extra star is for decor music and design, last for service which was great. I would recommend the lamb shank and steak. Egg plant was delicious and a variety of very tasty drinks. I would recommend this spot, but for a second time visit for me, this far in BK and poor management where it took almost 90 mins for our meal to be served…I’m likely not to go back. Worth the trip but only once

Absolutely loved Sofreh. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere feels calm, elegant, and truly special. The staff were kind and attentive, and the whole experience had that warm Persian charm that makes you want to come back. Definitely one of the best restaurants in New York City.

I don’t say this lightly: Sofreh is truly one of the city’s standout restaurants. Every dish reflects a level of mastery that’s hard to overstate. The kitchen takes authentic Persian flavors and elevates them with real creativity—the ribeye “kebab” is a perfect example. I was equally taken with the eggplant and whey dip; it was so good that I bought their cookbook afterward just to understand the sorcery behind it. And a special shoutout to the wonderful service team, who made the experience even better.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere at Sofreh. The space is so beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and even the staff uniforms added to how stylish and put together everything felt. The whole place has such a cute and welcoming vibe, and the staff were beyond nice.

The food was fantastic. The dishes had small creative twists while still staying very authentic to traditional Persian flavors. The tahdig is an absolute must. It was the best I have ever had in my life. Just note that it is limited to one order per table. Portions are not very sharable unless you order several different dishes, which is what we ended up doing.

I also tried the kabob, which was delicious, especially with the pomegranate sauce. That said, it was more like a steak than a traditional kabob, so just something to keep in mind. Sadly, I could not get a picture of it because it was so good we ate it right away.

Overall, Sofreh is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food, wonderful staff, and a great atmosphere. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for an elevated Persian dining experience in New York.

Insatiable food. The flavors of each dish were unique to its own but combined and complimented each other so beautifully.

Service was great – everyone was so kind. They were also well knowledgeable on the dishes and described the drinks and food with such detail! The suggestions were amazing.

Unfortunately didn’t take any pics but here’s the dessert. I was so full but I couldn’t stop eating the ice cream.

10/10 through and through.

Most of the dishes were too salty, enjoyed the bread and tahdig!

The pomegranate + squash salad was also pretty sour.

Lamb shank was tender and good though.

This is an absolutely wonderful place. The service, food, decore, experience all were excellent. The location from the patrons point of view was immaculately clean. You didn’t smell any odors from the kitchen and we were right across from the kitchen window. Food wise everyrhing was delicious. My personal favorite was the lamb shank, it was so tender and flavorful. It paired very well with the heavily seasoned rice. The rice pudding was very interesting totally different taste profile from what I am used to. For our starters we had three dishes a salad, flatbread and a mushroom dish, all of them were different and interesting. The mushroom dish was savory and woodsy, the salad was hearty and flavorful with a hint of spicy heat, the flat bread was also delicious. As expected the meal was pricey but nowhere near as bad as I expected. All in all the bill came in at $235 and some change with the tip included it was actually below $200 @ $185 before tip. I did leave a nice tip as the way they seem to work there is you do have a main server but they seem to tag team the tables if you have an empty dish and they see it whoever sees it grabs it. When it was time to switch the table settings another server did that, we were served by at least three different servers so I would assume they pool and split tips in some fashion. So with that in mind I left a nice one so everyone got a decent cut. We also had a cake and two drinks. I don’t remember which drinks or cake but they were all tasty as well. Something I did like about the cake was that it was not too heavy nor overly sweet. It actually went very well with the rice pudding, both the Misses and I found ourselves combining them to eat. My drink was made with a spirit that has an interesting back story, it is currently banned in Iran its call Aragh Sagi it was an interesting drink. The raisins come across very strongly, its quite nice. I ordered a shot of it neat to try it. This is definitely a spot that I would recommend anyone try if they want something different. My favorite part of this meal of course was the food followed closely by the service. Value wise this is an experience that lived up to the you get what you pay for saying. I paid a decent price and I got a decent experience for the cost.

The food was ok. The herb and noodle stew was good but had one ingredient that was a tad overpowering. The lamb shank was ok too. The best dish was the half chicken as the sauce was great

My partner and I had a wonderful date night at Sofreh. We got there right when it opened because we didn’t have a reservation. We sat at the bar and had good service the entire time. The sour cherry cooler was delicious and a good option if you’re not drinking alcohol. All the food was good but the cauliflower and the watermelon feta salad were sooo delicious and definitely our favorites. The atmosphere was nice and I thought the projector in the downstairs bathroom was cool. Definitely will be back!
