SoCo is a traditional New England ice cream scoop shop. You will eat ice cream made of milk from nearby single-source dairy farms, inclusions (cookie dough, brownies, marshmallows, ripples etc) made at our Great Barrington ice cream factory and all-natural ingredients. You will find up to 30 different flavors, ranging from our most popular dirty chocolate (a three-fold blend of cocoas) to blueberry honey lavender to Madagascar vanilla. We also serve sorbets (lemon, raspberry, Alphonso mango and others) made from pure fruit and dairy-free ice creams with an oat/coconut base.

SoCo has always been my favorite. They have a huge variety of flavors and offer a great quality of ice cream.
I do feel their quality has been lacking lately. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in recipe or something but the ice cream just seems a little different. Maybe too many flavors and a loss of quality control? It’s still great but I think High Lawn farms has the upper hand in ice cream now.

Super cute ice cream shop with lots of yummy flavors. I love that they have little cards you can fill out; “my greatest desire is…” “I wish I had the courage to…” etc and then they hang them on the walls. It was fun to read them while we enjoyed our ice cream!

It’s been a while since we have been in Great Barrington and some friends of ours recommended Soco creamery. They had lots of different flavors of ice cream including some that were made without dairy. I ordered a black raspberry dairyless one and it was really interesting, pretty sure it was a frozen yogurt flavor but still good!

Awesome ice cream shop! Friendly and patient staff! We were visiting in the area and this was a stop recommended by our hotel. Very good selection of flavours, but some looked like they needed to be restocked! Especially the classic chocolate flavour, which looked almost empty! Understandable, since it’s a busy place and it must be a popular flavour! I ordered a small size cup with half a scoop of chocolate and half a scoop of vanilla. So good!

Good service. It’s better to try different flavors to find what you like the most. Because some flavors were okay, some were delectable. My fave so far: the marzipan dates ice cream.

The ice cream is absolutely amazing! They also have my favorite flavor, ginger, as well as a lot of other uncommon flavors and all of the regulars. Check out the fantastic colors of some of the ice cream in the pictures! The staff was really nice, too. Would definitely recommend a trip here. It’s also great how late they’re open.

Great local scoop shop with a lot of character. The dirty chocolate flavor is unbelievably good. The ice cream has a thick, homestyle texture that’s just a little sticky in the best way. We came here 3 days in a row when we were in town and definitely would be regulars if we were local!

Very tasty ice cream. While the wait isn’t much there seems to always be a line here. They are doing a good job of moving the crowd forward but it sometimes comes at the expense of courteous service. When it’s packed with costumes they will spend less time cleaning and it shows.

Really a 4.6…excellent, highly recommend cookie monster and dirty chocolate. Banana brownie was good as well. Very clean, friendly staff. You can sample the ice cream flavors if you are unsure.
