We had chole bhature and vada pav, and both were absolutely delicious! The chole bhature was perfectly spiced with fluffy, fresh bhature, and the vada pav had that authentic street-food flavor with a crispy vada and soft pav. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.
Great service, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. If you are craving authentic Indian comfort food, this place is definitely worth visiting. Will be coming back again!
The dishes are plentiful and flavorsome! Our Saag Paneer was served pipping hot with plentiful paneer and vibrant green. Beautifully cooked down spinach and mustard greens. At spice level of “mild”, the spice was palpable and warming. The Desi Chicken Curry is dark, fragrant and generous in pieces of chicken thigh, juicy and tender. The spice level of “mild” brings a robust heat to the game but goes down beautifully with the basmati rice and the roti. Seeing me sweat, the staff kindly brought over some yogurt and it was just the thing to add another taste dimension to the curry!
Definitely a restaurant to look forward to and a break from the ordinary when staying at one of the many hotel properties in the area!
Checking in to the Comfort Inn, we noticed that there was an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. Though unusual, we felt like we had to give it a go. So glad we did! The food was excellent. We ordered some veggie Samosas to start, alond with some Desi Gobi Manchuian (spicy crispy cauliflower), Lamb Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and plain rice. Everything was full of exotic flavor and cooked to perfection. My only complaints – and the reason for the small deduction – was that the Tikka Masala could have had a few more chunks of meat, and that they didn’t have any Mango Chutney. I have never been to an Indian restaurant that didn’t offer it. But, I will know to bring my own the next time we are in Irvine … because we will definitely be going back.
