Today I had lunch at Soccer Taco in Market Square, Knoxville. I was greeted by friendly staff and promptly seated outside, which made for a nice spot to enjoy the midday atmosphere. Service was quick—my server brought out a menu and took my drink order right away. I went with unsweetened tea.
When I started to order the taco combo, the server suggested I order from the lunch menu instead to save money since it was essentially the same meal. That kind of honesty and attentiveness was appreciated. I ordered two crunchy tacos with rice and beans, along with a side of chips and salsa.
The chips and salsa came first, and both were excellent—the salsa had good flavor and the chips were fresh. My meal followed shortly after. The tacos were a standout, some of the best I’ve had in quite a while, with plenty of flavor in every bite. The beans and rice were also very good, and I found myself scooping them up with the tortilla chips.
The portions were generous, and there was no way I could finish it all, even though I wanted to. Between the great food, attentive service, and the lively Market Square location, I left very happy. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Stopped by for drinks after dinner and enjoyed a refreshing sangria and skinny margarita. Even though we did not order food, they kindly brought us complimentary nachos with salsa, which was a very nice touch. Great service and a welcoming atmosphere in Market Square—perfect place to relax and people-watch.

My teenage daughter went with friends leararning skills on how to go out. When the meal was done and the check came she combined checks with a friend as they both had the same meal. They both paid the same ammount. The server asked if they wanted change and they said yes. About 10 minutes went by my daughter told the server she was still waiting on her change. The server replied since she didnt write down she wanted her change she kept it. It is a struggle raising children and teaching them how act appropriately when they are treated like this. And yes we talked about how to tip and she was going too. So 2 young ladies had money stolen at this location from them.

8.27.23 I’m a big fan of soccer, futbol, and Mexican food, so I had to check this place out. Big portions and affordable prices. Free chips and salsa. Good service. Busy place. This place was on the Market Square surrounded by many other places but it was one of our faves. I had the chicken fajitas and couldn’t finish my portion. Yum!

Horrible, horrible, horrible! Save yourself your time and money. From the rude hostess, to the awful waitress, then the disgusting food. The only thing that was remotely okay was the salsa and margaritas. The queso is terrible and very bland. We ordered a combo plate: chille rellano & chalupa. That order was messed up and received a tostado instead of a chalupa. Nothing tasted good. The guacamole was weird and dis not taste good. Everything was cold. The rice was horrible. Secondly, I received my plate, 20 minutes rolled by and my wife never received her birria tacos. We told the waitress we no longer wanted the tacos. They came out anyways but we were DONE. One of the only times I have left a restaurant and left everything on the plate and not cared to take a to go box. Again, absolutely horrible. We will never be back.

Used to frequent this place all the time as it was really good, but it’s gone downhill.
Margarita was all mix and crazy sweet. Food was bland. Went there during an EPL game, wasn’t even on the TV. So much for the name. Disappointing as I used to really enjoy this spot.

Exactly as advertised w/ unexpectedly delicious food! Waitlist is always the shortest/fastest in the downtown area. If you’re feeling like Mexican while downtown you will NOT be let down.

We ordered drinks and apps and sat outdoors. Seating limited. There was some girl in the courtyard preaching and singing over a PA , preaching about Our Lord and our sins. Then, 2 girls show up with FOUR dogs and an infant. The dogs were not well behaved, kept antagonizing a few other dogs seated outside and they had an infant. The one girl was soooo loud, and talk about demanding in her orders and very rude. This ruined our whole dining experience. The drinks, food and environment are far better at the North Shore location. I might add that you have to pay to park as no availability was found. Will not be returning to this location. I do recommend Soccer Taco though at there other Knoxville locations.
