Trying out the new restaurant menu. One of us loves fish, the other meat, so now we get the best of both worlds. The duo of bass and bream with the almond and caper butter plus a huge portion of chunky chips for me.. sirloin steak with fries for the fireman.. cooked to perfection.. exactly as requested..
The staff, as always, are so lovely.. polite, friendly, helpful
Well done Matt and team for a very enjoyable night out

We had a wonderful weekend lunch at Sobo Fish. The set lunch was excellent value, and the four types of fish we tried were cooked perfectly – tender, fresh, and full of flavour with sauces that complemented them beautifully.

Unfortunately, the fish soup was sold out and oysters weren’t available that day, which was a little disappointing. That said, the brown crab was delicious, the salad was fresh, and both the fried squid and fried whitebait were very well prepared.

The restaurant is stylish, comfortable, and dog-friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable for our family. Highly recommended!

Food was decent. Service was polite but slow, especially when sat outside where the visit of staff is infrequent. The inside of the restaurant was full up but the outside area was not even half full so I wonder if this was a resourcing issue considering it was a busy (and hot) peak time on a weekend.
Our booking was for 8pm and had quite a few items on the menu not being available, so one to note especially if there are particular ones you are after.

We hired out the Alpine Bar out the back to play Traitors for my birthday on Saturday and it was fantastic! What a great little set up these guys have got, such a class little venue. The staff were great too, down to earth, friendly and efficient. Booking was easy and stress free, they were easily contactable and totally on it. There were a few places I was considering booking, but as soon as I walked through the door to view the place, me and my sister were greeted with a lovely warm welcome and such friendly energy, it was a no brainer. And the alpine bar itself being such a cool little hidden gem, we were totally sold. Shout out to Jackie behind the bar who was a lovely lady and couldn’t do enough for us on the night. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be back. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you guys!

I was invited to my date’s place In Bournemouth and this was the first time I went down there for a visit. So this was date 13 and he took me to a lovely fish restaurant which is not far from where he lives. It was a very hot day and people were sat outside but we sat in the AC. You had to have a booking as I saw them turn three people away.

I really liked the cosy, relaxed nature of the restaurant especially as the London restaurants my date and I tend to go to are very fancy. My date visits this restaurant often so I knew the food would be fantastic.

I’ve added two lots of photos here as we came here once when I came to Bournemouth on my own then once when my daughter came to Bournemouth as well.

I had a lovely salad for my starter and my date enjoyed the fresh crab claws. I knew the fish would be really fresh here. The second time I came here, I had the prawns in a pint glass which were delicious and my date had the seafood chowder as it was a bit chilly. My daughter had the calamari. For my main, I had the Dorset haddock with chilli and seaweed butter which was so nice along with new potatoes and my date had the seabass with roasted almond butter and we had a side salad as well.

My daughter had the coconut tempura prawn skewer along with the Haddock as well, but she had the same chilli and seaweed butter as I had the previous week and my date had the seabass. They both had skinny fries and I had new potatoes again.

The desserts are absolutely phenomenal. My date had the cheesecake and I had the praline brownie the first time around. And on our second visit my daughter was too full for dessert but my date had the cheesecake again and I had the lemon tart which was very tasty.

What I really liked about this restaurant is not only the cosy atmosphere but it was very reasonably priced and the portions were massive as well. I was impressed with the price considering it was a lovely three course dinner, it was reasonably priced and the fish was so fresh. Everything was super fresh. The service is great and I cannot wait to come back here again when I’m down in Bournemouth. ✨

What an incredible find – this lovely fish restaurant is an absolute gem! There is so much choice! And they cater for all appetites, with “nibbles” “starters” and “mains” Not only that, you can choose from a variety of different toppings for your choice of fish – which is so refreshing – no longer just ‘battered’ or ‘breadcrumbs’!
My sea trout was so moist and juicy, it just fell apart delightfully, whilst my husband’s Scottish Plaice was so enormous it took over the whole plate! I can definitely recommend booking a table here, especially if fish is your favourite, and I know we’ll be booking again

We came in at 5pm and we were lucky to get a table because of the Bank Holiday weekend. The fish are very large and fresh. The fish were cooked to perfection with the right amount of flavours from the sauce. The service was very good and the food came very fast.

Went here back in March but never got round to posting a review until now.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, the food was incredible, 10/10 quality, good portion sizes and well priced.
Service was very good too.

I had lobster bisque as a starter and it was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had, and the bread was amazing.
Would highly reckoned for any seafood lover.

I also went with my partner who doesn’t eat fish and they have non fish options available too.
