Korean BBQ restaurant at Closter neighborhood. Inside more spacious than I thought. Great service at Saturday night. We had a big party (12ppl) with no reservation. The host arranged 2 tables for us quickly.

We got the combo A (4-5people): 4 beef/steak + 1 pork shoulder. Meat quality is good. The staff cooked it for us. I wish they have a better vent system. The smoke kinda just floated around. Small dishes are provided, such as kimchi.

Nice decoration inside. Bathroom is clean. The staff are friendly. A good spot for Korean BBQ.

This has been my go to Korean BBQ in the past few years since they opened. I come all the way here for the atmosphere and service. There is more space compared to those in fort Lee and Pal park, and they usually don’t rush. Until this past Sunday. Great disappointment. Korean BBQ is generally pretty expensive meal. Even if I don’t get the quantity, I should not pay few hundreds dollar to get angry. When we placed our order, I first ordered dumplings for appetizer, and since we can’t remember if we liked the kalbi or finger ribs, we order one each first to try, I told the waitress 3 times, place this order first. I will tell you which one we need more orders. She still telling us to order more food, how about this , how about this. So I repeated the 3rd times , please place this order first. Then she told me, this is not enough food for all of you . That is when I lose my ssss. “Okay, and I already told you 3 times, I will decide which one I want after.’ It is very common to order by sections for Asian meals. And we ordering raw meat, you just need to bring meat to my table from fridge. she was just rushing to see her tips. And So Good, why don’t you tell me what I wanna order and how much I wanna eat? Seems you guys have a lot of opinions. One of the waitress is nice, the same lady, who wears dark color frame eye glasses, rushing to cook my orders. When I add my 2nd order, I have 2 orders of finger ribs. The long hair waitress fit about 1.5 order on the grill and it was full. This dark frame glasses waitress came to put the rest on the grill, and some meat was literally on the table instead of the grill. It was Sunday, restaurant is not full. No one was waiting. Why she is rushing me ? Even there is long line out there, she still should cook my beef on the grill instead of the table.
There are many many Korean bbq options in my area. I don’t need to go back to Closter. So this was my last visit. Good luck, So Good!

Beef was good, pork was dry and chewy.

So Good Korean BBQ (190 Closter Dock Rd, Closter, NJ) is a solid spot for Korean BBQ lovers. Guests rave about the quality meats—especially the So Galbi and Bulgogi—and the attentive service. It’s BYOB, with a cozy, casual vibe. Open daily, 11:30 AM–10 PM. Great for a local Korean BBQ fix without heading to Fort Lee!

My family and I are here my server was so kind and patient my younger brother had autism and was stimming along with making a mess, my server cleaned up after him and always left our table with a smile. The food was delicious everything was so filling I’m definitely coming back here. The only flaw I would say if some of the workers were laughing at my brother along with giving a look. Overall the experience was enjoyable I would recommend.

I’ve been here many times, mostly out of convenience, and I’ve finally accepted what this place truly offers: food so aggressively mediocre it feels like an insult to seasoning itself. Nothing is terrible, nothing is good—just a parade of “this sure is food.” If your goal is to spend money without experiencing flavor, congratulations, you’ve found your spot.

The atmosphere feels like a failed audition for a prohibition-era speakeasy. It’s dark, moody, and vaguely depressing, as if the lighting was designed to distract you from both the food and your expectations. Not exactly shabby—just soulless.

But let’s not pretend anyone comes here for ambiance or food. The real showstopper—the kind you tell people about—is the service.

⚠️ DO NOT COME HERE IF THEY ARE BUSY. EVER. ⚠️
Unless you enjoy watching a live demonstration of how to run a waitlist with absolute confidence and zero competence.

I’ve worked in the service industry. I understand rushes. I understand delays. What I witnessed here was not “busy”—it was organizational free fall.

We arrived as a party of six and were quoted a 15-minute wait. This later transformed—without warning, explanation, or shame—into a 2-hour wait. When we politely asked for an update, we were first ignored, then brushed off, as if questioning a wildly inaccurate estimate was a personal offense.

And then, the executioner’s final swing:
They seated two people at a six-person table while smaller tables were open or actively being cleaned. Yes. Read that again. This forced our larger party to wait even longer for another large table to open—because nothing says “efficient seating” like deliberately creating your own problem.

It was honestly impressive. Like watching someone spill a drink and then knock over the table to fix it.

If you enjoy mediocre food, dungeon lighting, and front-row seats to managerial malpractice, this place is consistent. Otherwise, eat literally anywhere else. Cook at home. Grab fast food. Sit in your car and chew ice. All are better uses of your time than trusting this restaurant with basic math and common sense.

This was a fantastic, delicious, celebratory experience!!!!
It’s a bit expensive, but obviously well-worth the price tag for all the food you get as well as the quality and the unique dining experience. My friends told me it was very authentic as far as Korean barbecue goes (my first time, their 20th or so!) I’m not so adventurous but I like trying new things and I loved lots of different dishes, in particular the lotus roots and the radishes. Perfect for a special dinner out- we celebrated my friend’s birthday.

The food was great enought to feed 4-6 people but I just wanted to enjoy with my nephew for his 14th birthday. The food was incredible, and promptness of the food prep and service. Just next time we will ask for a portion of each, of the 3 plates, of meat to be cooked once at a time instead of one plate then the next then the next. Because the flavor of the 1st might be best of the latter…hehe. overall, it was superb spot to roll into and get a great grilling

It is really soooo gooood.

The food arrived promptly, and the minimal barbecue smoke allowed us to fully enjoy our meal. We opted for the combination C, which came with rice. The beef was incredibly tender and juicy; a simple dip into salt and it melted in my mouth, rendering additional seasonings unnecessary.

The outstanding service added to our dining pleasure, and a delightful surprise awaited us at the end: marshmallows, which quickly became my daughter’s favorite part of the meal.

Moreover, the reasonable pricing and the clean, spacious environment made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Remarkably, we could comfortably chat despite the sound of venting machines in the background. This place comes highly recommended for its scrumptious food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere.
