Great vegetarian-friendly spot with a few quirks!
I stopped by here on a Wednesday night around 6:45 PM and was pleasantly surprised by how easy parking was. If you’re looking for a solid Korean meal with generous portions, this is a great choice.
The Food: As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how accommodating they were. I ordered:
• Japchae: Requested it with no mushrooms, and they executed it perfectly.
• Tofu Dumpling Soup: Very flavorful and satisfying.
• Banchan: They serve a huge variety of complimentary side dishes, which is always the mark of a great Korean restaurant!
The portion sizes are big, so you definitely get your money’s worth. Everything tasted “good very great”—very fresh and authentic.
The Service & Atmosphere: The only downside was the service pacing. Even though the restaurant wasn’t full and there were plenty of free tables, the staff brought the check while we were still eating. It felt a bit rushed, which was unnecessary given the empty seating. Also it’s a bit loud talking everywhere around.
Overall: Delicious food and easy logistics, just be prepared for a slightly hurried exit!

Best soon dubu I’ve ever had in the Bay. This could rival any place in LA’s K-town and is miles better than anything you can find in East Bay.

The broth is so deep, savory and flavorful that you can taste it in the tofu, which soaks up the seasoning beautifully. Also, I could taste that they might season their mushrooms and beef before boiling it in the soup. These are small details that make this place really special.

It’s super busy on a Sunday afternoon but one server still managed to ask if we wanted refills on banchan. I didn’t expect that so that was nice!

Fabulous place whether you like it fiery or mild, vegan or meaty — a classic Bay Area mom and pop Korean joint that is both deeply authentic yet approachable for those unfamiliar with the cuisine. Warning: Dinner is crowded. Arrive early, put your name on the waitlist, and order in advance. Then when you get seated, plates begin arriving within minutes.

Overall, I think this place was OK it right at three stars. The short ribs, some more work. I write that like a full 3 1/2 I rate it. It’s not that clean. The tables are sticky and everything is a little bit dirty and not sturdy, but it’s still good. The food was OK. It is all good over I give this place three stars

Solid place for solid Korean food! Went there during off peak timing (1.30pm) on a weekend and it was pretty full. There are a number of parking spaces but I supposed you may need to park by the roadside during peak hours. When I got there, it was one of two empty slots left.

Side dishes were delicious and free flow. Main dishes tasted even better!! We had the chicken bulgogi (they only served dinner size on weekends) and it is huge. Value for money for sure! We also had seafood tofu soup and it tasted really good. Even with the tips, the price point for the food is still very worth it. And if you can’t finish it, remember to ask for packing boxes. Folks are efficient and friendly! They are always checking if we need to top up our side dishes. I am definitely going back there again each time I have cravings!

I was missing Korean food, and I tasted home food at SGD! Kimchi soon-tofu (w/ pork) as well as side dishes were so delicious!

This place is pretty nice in south bay. There’s a parking lot for your cars. It gets busy during peak hours but usually you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

It seems pretty authentic (coming from a non Korean). Food is good, especially the seafood pancakes and the galbi. Definitely would want more of those. Serving size is pretty large too.

Overall good stuff and very solid Korean restaurant!

Opting for the combination tofu hot pot which allows you to enjoy both meat and seafood. I believe it was at least a dozen clams included. The tofu is packed, with every spoonful loaded with ingredients. So delicious! And the staff, noticing that the side dishes were running low, proactively replenished them without us having to ask. What a lovely gesture that makes you feel like you’re dining in a homey restaurant. I would definitely recommend it for someone craving Korean tofu pot.

Updated [Dine in]: My husband and I went there on May 17, 2025 for dinner. We ordered the Fish Egg Tofu Soup which was their signature dish. It was disgusting. There was a strong fishy smell that smelt like it was rotten. After we had the dinner, we both felt unwell that night.

[Delivery] The pork is good. Tofu soup is smaller than I expected.
