I ordered chicken bulgogi with vegetables and rice. Looked good in pictures but sub par. Asked the chef for more than 1 broccoli an couple peppers. The manger says the onions are the vegetables! He wouldn’t add more veggies. Well for a well regarded chain this is not a good representation. Lost a local customer.

Love the rice, chewy and sweet. Wish they had more kimchi in the stew and more green in the rice box. Meat was tender and flavorful. They are quite informal so do not expect side dishes or Korean drinks

Couldn’t wait to eat before I took a photo. This is the best Korean BBQ I’ve ever had!!!!! The beef ribs were absolutely delicious, not to mention their spring rolls as well….. OMG. I absolutely will be going back. Catch me there everyday. Love love love

Where’s the Tofu! A visit on Sunday 4/10 midday, ordered a tofu stew, spicy mixed protein. Wow, a total disappointment, not my first visit here but definitely my last. Get home and not only is there a minimal amount of protein, a spoon or two, but no tofu in a thin, lacking of flavor red dishwater like soup. Man, this is not rocket science, it’s called Tofu stew. This is a clear demonstration of poor ownership / management who, by the way, was unavailable by phone to his own inexperienced employee. I’m sick and tired of hearing restaurant owners complain about how hard it to make a buck, yes that’s true, it’s not easy, and place blame on everything “under the sun” but there own lack of involvement and attention. They did finally figure out how to issue me a refund. Yay for that.

Great food, although I’ll definitely get bulgogi stuff than tofu stew next time. I think they forgot to put salt in

From 5 stars to 1 star.

We first found this place like a year or two ago and absolutely loved it. I would always get the soondubu with kalguksu. (Tofu stew with korean knife cut noodles) It was superior to all other soondubu and was perfect. The flavor and the noodles were fresh. My husband also really liked the beef bulgogi. The prices were really good at the time too. Then they introduced a tofu dish that was great. My husband and I would fight over the last piece everytime we ordered it. It was spicy and and saucy and you could get it in a bento box with spring rolls, rice, and salad. The spring rolls were also amazing. We ate here once to twice per week.

The past 6 months things have went downhill!!!! I am SO SAD!! There is no other place near me that has good korean food for takeout that i know of, but this place is so bad now that we have decided not to eat here anymore.
First they started getting rid of the korean food on the menu! They stopped serving kalguksu. Then the quality of the food became horrible not long after. We tried three times after getting horrible food hoping it was just a bad day, but it wasn’t.
The tofu dish is no longer saucy or even edible. It is super oily and the consistency of the tofu is a joke. Just this past week we decided we will never be going back as the tofu was inedible and instead of sauce they just use oil now. The spring rolls have also changed. They are not nearly as good as before. My husband says the beef bulgogi has also become inedible. And the staff isn’t the same as they used to be. So sad to see this place go from amazing to horrible 🙁
I know it’s a chain so I hope that whoever was in charge when it was good can fix it!

I frequent the market they are located in and LOVE Korean food so gave them a try today after grocery shopping. Wish I hadn’t. Ordered the tofu stew with vegetables, extra spicy. Watched the employee who took my order enter “medium spicy” into the register, which might well have been an innocent miscommunication but since it happens all the time (why doesn’t anyone believe women can enjoy spice?)… Like usual, let it go.

Once home, I discovered that I had been handed the wrong order. Think it was shrimp bibimbap though it was mostly onions over lettuce in sauce, giving the benefit of doubt, perhaps it was customized. Driving 20+min each way to exchange it wasn’t appealing & they couldn’t legally give it to the correct customer after a return, so opted to eat what I was given. The onion was so overwhelming that even picking all of it out didn’t help. Reluctantly threw away the meal after my husband also couldn’t stomach it. A waste.

Tried calling for a refund or credit but no one answered and there is no other way to contact them listed. Couple hours later I gave up and drove back to Plainsboro for the refund. Clearly a glutton for punishment, but spending $ on nothing isn’t my jam. There was 1 employee there but a language barrier prevented us from communicating. Think that also explained why no one was answering the phone, I assumed it had been off the hook but I could hear it ringing nonstop in the vicinity. She seemed nice but def couldn’t help me with a refund or credit so finally I tried handing her my receipt and was surprised when she pulled out my original order. It had been sitting there for several hours by this point, but as this was clearly the best I was going to get I thanked her and took it home.

Despite everything, I wouldn’t have left this review if it hadn’t turned out to be such a majorly disappointing tofu stew. Very little flavor, the only vegetables were some disintegrating broccoli and a slice or 3 of shiitake. Didn’t come with kimchi.

Really wanted to love So Gong Dong but after this experience I’d best stick to groceries at the market.

My kids really like their pork bulgogi and beef bulgogi. We usually order a bento box or two. Overall I find them tasty and of good proportion, although recently the plastic bento box had about 50% chance to leak, which was a bit annoying. Inflation caused proportion to go down a little but still quite decent. Chicken was good too. I think for others wanting more vegetable, they should consider bento box – it costs only a little more but has vegetable/small salad with a small snack too.

Ordered spring rolls from SGD priced at 5 for 5.99. While that being prepared I went to the Goncha bubble tea place which is the stall right before SGD spent close to 8-10min and got back to the SGD for my spring rolls. They were not even cooked yet. Waited additional 10min then the person who is cooking explains to me usually the spring rolls are small and these I ordered happen to be big it is ok I can have it for the same price which made no difference to me. After another 5min total 20+ min later while they were packing the finished product I asked for a little container of hot sauce which they had plenty of which they refused. I was quite disappointed and asked for a refund which they were very quick to give and I took my cash and left it all and walked away. I will never ever shop there again.
