Stopped here after an appointment in Snohomish – fantastic food and service. Restaurant includes an on premis bakery with fresh high quality baked goods. Service is excellent with cooked to order dishes. Soups change periodically with a very nice variety.

A true Snohomish gem!

Snohomish Bakery at First & Union is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, the cozy small-town charm wraps around you like a warm blanket. The smell of fresh bread, buttery croissants, and perfectly brewed coffee is enough to make you smile before you even order.

I grabbed a ham and cheese croissant, and WOW — flaky, golden, and full of flavor. Their cinnamon rolls are next-level too — gooey, soft, and not overly sweet. You can tell everything is made with care and real ingredients.

What really sets this place apart is the service. Friendly, fast, and genuine — like you’re a regular even if it’s your first time. Bonus points for the patio seating, which is perfect on a sunny day while people-watching in historic downtown Snohomish.

If you’re passing through or a local who hasn’t stopped by in a while, go. Your taste buds will thank you. ☕

I drove about 30 minutes to have breakfast here, and it was worth it! We got there just before the busy rush — soon after, there were lines out the door. The quiche was really good, and they also have outdoor seating, which is a nice option. My coffee did take a little while to come out, but overall, it was a great visit. I’ll definitely be back!

We’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and really enjoyed the food and overall customer service, so, brought an out of town guest to share this place with him.

After today’s fiasco, we’re not sure if we’ll ever recommend it to anyone again! Two stars is because we know they can do better, we’ve seen it. If this had been our first time, one star would have been just for the requirement of the review.

First, we were seated by the server at 2 tables and told we couldn’t have 5 people at a table, nor could we push the two tables we were sat at together. So we sat 3/2.

The server then left and didn’t return for almost 10 minutes. We got in our order and waited as other tables who were seated after us received their food. When the food arrived for only one table, we had to remind them we had no silverware or napkins to eat with.

After nearly finishing our food, we had to flag them down to remind them the food for our kids at the next table had still not arrived (nor were there any napkins or utensils on their table).

They delivered our daughter’s CHEESEburger she’d ordered, minus the sauce, with only a piece of what looked like a McDonald’s patty in between a bun… Literally nothing else between that bun. No lettuce, no tomatoes, no pickle, no CHEESE, nothing. Hey, at least they remembered to leave off the sauce. The server told my daughter she had ordered a CHEESEburger with nothing on it. We’ve had their burgers in past, and it was (in past) great, and a real burger patty.

They offered to make her another burger, thank you. The chef came out to tell her at least she got a free burger since he couldn’t take the initial one back. It’s not a free burger, as the one initially brought was going to the family dog, as it was not appetizing to any human in our family. We still paid for the one she actually ordered, so no, we were not grateful for the ‘free’ burger you told us to take home.

No one ever came back to refill our coffee, and when asked for more coffee, the server never came back.

We think your staff members need to be informed they work at a restaurant, or at least train them to know how restaurants function, please.

I’m giving this review from the perspective of someone whose family has owned restaurants, bars, racehorses etc. for the majority of my life, and I’ve also worked in entertainment/food/bev industry for over 15+ years. I don’t write “bad” reviews to complain. Here’s the…good part? First & Union Kitchen really does hit the mark on what they have to offer; American brunch style food, family friendly atmosphere mainly because it’s busy and loud (which I don’t actually mind). Basically what you see is what you get.
Here’s the not-so-great part, The staff is mostly a younger group of kids which shouldn’t be an issue, but they lack customer service skills. The kitchen is shared between the bakery/cafe lounge and the restaurant. Plan on waiting, you won’t be getting in and out in under an hour. If you plan to ask for modifications, don’t. If you do have questions especially regarding gluten free options be prepared for an eye-roll and a less than desirable attitude from your server. I had been into Fist & Union twice prior to my most recent visit, and maybe it’s because I was solo and sitting at the bar top, that it was quicker and somewhat painless, but when I brought my husband and east-coast in-laws, I was very apologetic, because 1st & U was my recommendation and I raved about the food, but the service was so horrible it felt like a constant verbal insult. In-laws wanted to pay and leave without even eating their food. When my in-laws asked the server if they had a gluten-free menus option or if they should look for options on the standard menu, our server snarled at us and said “why would you come here if you’re gluten-free didn’t you look online before you came? This is Snohomish“ and then she laughed. The in-laws chalked it up to a poor attempt at sarcasm, but I saw right through it. When our food came, my MIL asked for clarification on her order because it didn’t seem right, and the server said “how would you know it doesn’t look right if you’ve never been here” all around just not the vibe for a service industry professional if you ask me.

Like I said, First and union really hits the mark on the menu that they have to offer, and what you see is what you get. I’m leaving this review in hopes to bring some awareness to management. I’d hate to see another business go down, especially when customer service can be improved by hiring qualified staff. Don’t be cheap, good help pays for itself.

Unplanned/unexpected side-note parking is a madhouse in downtown Snohomish on the weekends so give yourself plenty of time. If you have dietary restrictions or if you want a relaxing environment, this is not the place for you.

Delicious and reasonably priced. As someone with food allergies, I really appreciate that they have the ingredients shown for each pastry.

Love the outdoor seating, I looked up from my lunch and got to see a paraglider up in the clouds. The blueberry lemon scone was a must-try, perfect balance of sweet and lemony – thank you to the kind employee who suggested it

This is a great place, excellent location in the heart ❤️ of Snohomish. Their bakery items are delicious and their breakfast & lunch items are amazing. The breakfast burrito is huge! They can be pretty busy on the weekends but they have some nice outside, covered seating for Spring and Summer. Nice spot!
