Very reasonable fish and chip shop. Food quality was pretty good, and prices are average. The spring rolls are delicious. I did note however that when I ordered over the phone, the staff member defaulted to crumbed fish without telling me (when the default would normally be battered) which bumped the price up.

Crispy Chicken Burger & Chips
Both were standout. Moist fish, delicious batter and kumara was perfectly cooked
Chicken burger was delicious! Not sure of all the fillings but they melded into a mouthful of complimentary flavours – loved it! Great crispy on the outside but soft on the inside chips.
Friendly helpful staff, great prices, very clean, generous serving sizes and food was non greasy.
Only thing i would update – as we are staying in a hotel room, it would have been wonderful to be able to eat in.

Ordered 6 ‘fish of the day’ at $6.50 each plus 2 servings of chips. Fish was tough, so hard, some of it got stuck in my teeth! It didn’t taste fresh. The chips were pretty horrible, tasted old or reheated – ended up chucking most of them away. In addition we bought a chicken and fried rice, quite dry and sweet as though something had been added. Not good value or experience.

Best fish & chips I’ve eaten for a long time. We ordered crab stick, 3 gurnard, spring roll, 4 potatoes fritters, scoop of chips. The meal was not dripping in fat or greasy. Delicious!

Fish and chips were good. Excellent Gurnard pieces. Obviously the place is a local favourite. BUT please get someone in to do your gardens. Looked shabby and as the welcome mat to your experience it simply looks terrible….

Delicious fish and everything fried you can imagine. Loved the paua fritter, as well as the gurnard and kumara chips. No vegetarian options as they are fried with non vegetarian food.

These were the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fresh fish (grunard and snapper) nicely prepared. Ear with your fingers at one of the picnic tables.
