Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat on the way to the beach or a place to relax and have a few cold ones after a long day of fishing, this is the place for you! Snappers Bar & Grill is located on FM 2031, about a mile south of the Matagorda bridge and just a few miles north of the beach. We offer a full bar along with plenty of beer and wine. Beer, wine, and mixed drinks TO-GO are also available, so make sure to stock up on your way to the beach! There’s a playscape for the kiddos and friendly pets are always welcome on a leash. Showed up on a Saturday night which apparently was a karaoke night. So the atmosphere was great they’re playing good country and western music, which I love. I ordered the patty melt which was delicious and messy like a good burger should be. She ordered the shrimp po’ boy which was also good. The fried pickles were good not great but good. The only thing holding this back from five stars is I did run out of Beverage a couple of times. So the waitress could have been a little more attentive. But overall a good experience and I would recommend to anyone visiting Matagorda.

((Update)), I attached a video and I had to take away a star, this is a health concern! So first visit I said the other waitress kept putting her fingers in her shorts and adjusting her self, not our waitress. However our food was great. That was our first visit. Well we went back as I said we were going to do and got their burgers which were also delicious, I give the food 5 ⭐️’s !! However the waitress we originally had was working a different area and as she was walking around she was doing exactly what the other waitress had been doing!!! She was picking her wedgies out, constantly, front and back, over and over again! I don’t even know what to say about this. I have never been to any restaurant and seen people do this, not one waitress. But now its 2 different waitresses. Thats crazy!, and Its absolutely gross to be serving food and drinks and digging in your shorts. Lucky enough, again it wasn’t the waitress serving us. But I don’t know that we will go back.
There was only 1 issue, but first lets talk about how great it was. The food was well above par, our waitress awesome. The place was very busy and yet they were moving along wonderfully, didn’t miss a beat. We had a hard time choosing between seafood or burgers and nearly regretted ordering 2 seafood platters and the coconut shrimp when we saw them bring the next table cheese burgers. But that was quickly over as the crawfish fondue arrived and even know my husband said it was more like a queso , which it was, it was delicious. The garlic bread that came with it wasn’t enough to finish the bowl so we requested tortilla chips and they were so fresh hot and perfectly salted you could eat those by themselves! But they went great with the fondue, like it was queso. My coconut shrimp was a treat, perfectly cooked and flavored. Their onion rings were incredible , definitely not frozen but from that wet batter , as they should be, fresh and flakey, perfection. They also have the good ranch! The guys got fried fish baskets and it was all fresh, cooked perfectly and seasoned amazingly. Fish, Shrimp and Oysters , all amazing. They may have the best coleslaw we have every had. And their gravy that comes with the Texas toast could be eatten on anything, and everything, it was so good. I dipped a couple fries in it, myself. ♀️ I also really enjoyed their cucumber salad and both their tarter sauce and cocktail sauce were obviously house made and well, well above most seafood places flavor and quality, really great . So the one issue was another waitress , not ours or I would have had to say something. This other waitress had short short tight jean shorts on and I guess they were ridding up and really bothering her cause she kept unconsciously pulling them outta her crotch and behind . First time I saw it, she delivered drinks to the table in front of us and then while talking to them hooks her fingers into her shorts and slides them along to her inner thigh pulling them outta her crotch. Then she is standing by the cash register and looks around the bar talking to our waittress dirrectly towards me and she steps to the side a bit with one leg, spreading her legs apart some, hooks her fingers into her shorts again and pulls them out of her crotch…..again! This happened atleast 6 times that I saw in the hour we were there. Reaching under the short legs and pulling them out from the front and the back. So between touching/serving peoples food and drinks she is digging in her shorts, touching herself/crotch and behind. And it’s out doors, hot sweaty. Seriously I do not believe she even realized what she was doing or how gross it is while serving customers food. But she definitely needs to be conscious about what she is touching and stop, doing that, as well as not wear those shorts anymore if they bother her that much. We will be coming back soon to try the burgers and I will have to see whose area we sit in hopefully someone sees this and in the future it’s not an issue to worry about.

Love the new location. Food is always great and staff does a great job. Always great atmosphere as well. Beer is always ice cold.

Food trailer with tent seating. Not bad and it was clean. Table service was fantastic. The food was served in tray type plastic containers. Not an issue with me. Shrimp queso was terrific. However, being in the fishing area I was expecting fresh shrimp and fish. A little disappointed because we were served packaged everything as if bought from a grocery store. Coconut shrimp, french fries, oinion rings, hush puppies, fish… everything from a store. The food did taste very good and it was served hot and fast. A little pricey for me but all in all a good experience.

Snappers made the move to the new location! The atmosphere was great they had live music and great vibes. No mosquitoes! Service was good, … food was slow to come out but it’s made to order. Everything was great. My Mahi was slightly over cooked but still delicious. My spouse had the fried fish and enjoyed it. The beer was ice cold.

Stopped in here after dropping a uBer rider off I brought from the Bush Airport! and let me tell you! the people were friendly, the food was great. I will be drive back from here in north Houston just to spend a weekend in the area. I was just a relaxing enviorment. I’m a Louisiana native, and I love the Gulf and all that it provides for us!

Absolutely LOVED our burger and fries. The Coconut Shrimp was delicious!! The buffalo chicken bites did not disappoint either. Great atmosphere and service too!!

Food was okay , limited menu. Our server was very confused. They brought the salad out with the meal.She said, that’s how they do it. Which i’ve never had my side salad brought out with the meal. My buddies shrimp po boy, was literally bread and shrimp. no tartar sauce mayonnaise nothing. Had to ask for some condiments, to put on it. After ten minutes, we gave up and he just ate it dry. My buddy’s hamburger had like one pound of jalapenos on it. Didn’t realize it would come with that They’re they’re just slapping stuff together there. I hope they improve. But better places to eat in Matty.

Took over an hour and a half to get our food. We tried to pay for our drinks and leave. Then they wait till our food was finally brought out to give us our check. Proceeding to make us pay. Skylar was our waitress. After we said we didn’t want to pay, she said we had to in a rude tone. I understand they didn’t have much in the kitchen, but we could have been notified at the very beginning. Never once were we checked up on after ordering our drinks.

For starters, the food was amazing! My husband took me to the beach for our anniversary and it was perfect. To top our night off we stopped in at Snappers for a bite to eat. The atmosphere was cute & cozy, almost like a little hideout/getaway with great food. My only complaint is the service. It took a little while to get our food which is understandable considering the amount of people in attendance. Our waitress was just a young girl with black hair & glasses; she wasn’t attentive and came off rude when taking down our order. With the amount of customers there, I figured she’d be more attentive instead of going to sit down on her phone. Also, I understand the fashion in this world has changed, I’ve seen it through my granddaughters, but the bottoms our server wore did not seem at all appropriate, nor was pleasing to see walk by. Overall, my husband and I had amazing food on a great night.
