This is a nice place has very decent food as you would expect it’s more bar food do not expect fine dining here. You will find very friendly people though the atmosphere was wonderful It is a bar area and it is kind of like low rent in my mind. It is on lake Michigan with incredible views It is out of the way and if you do go to the new zoo on your way home I would suggest you stop here and check it out because you’ll be glad you did.

We recently revisited Smully’s. They have Bay perch, which is the best, and cook it extremely well. I am a perch snob and this is one of 2 places I tend to go. Service is generally marginal, but tonight we had Dawn serving us. Dawn is one the ball! Really understands what it takes, keeps super busy, yet handle our needs and did a great job. Sawyer, brand new employee was also great to watch….he is doing a great job as a supet rookie. We will be back.

Amazing fries. Has a family/bar type balanced atmosphere. Great wings and burgers. Our waitress was really friendly and provided excellent service. I plan on returning because of the menu and decent pricing. Burgers are real beef, not that cheep crap served at other bars

What a fun tavern!! Great atmosphere, and the location is outstanding! Friendly staff, there was a birthday party going on at the time of our visit, but the room that was used for that was perfect as well–it made it so that you didn’t feel as though you were an interruption to their party or vice versa.

Bigger and nicer inside than appears from the outside. Also could not tell if they were open when driving up…. But they definitely were. Sweet spot on the water with great food. Will definitely be back again.

Well worth the short detour off the highway to grab lunch. I wanted a fish fry for lunch as we were traveling through the area enjoying one last summer hurrah before school starts. A quick Google search led us here. My family thought I had us lost when we came upon a dead end sign, but I saw the Smully’s sign, so I knew we were in the right spot. I loved the food, atmosphere, view, and service. A few fun games to play with my 9 yr old while we waited for our food. Definitely give it a try.

We stopped by for a brew by the bay, great outside table, $3 hamburgers and a view the was spectacular. There was not supposed to be any service outside, but the staff still did a great job taking care of us. Be sure to give them a try.

We stopped here shortly after we moved to the area to support a nearby local business. It was rather slow, we weren’t sure they were open. The bartender was our waiter, and we were not his priority. He was friendly though, and you could see he was the only one there to support everyone, so I understand. However, from a first timer perspective, we felt out of place. We didn’t know we had to get our own menus and flag someone down to take our order. I’m sure on a busier night where they are better staffed, it would have been a different experience. The food was ok. Fries were good, burger was pretty basic bar food. We loved that there was a pinball machine to play while we waited for our food. The location is great! From the reviews, it sounds like their specials are really where they shine. We aren’t much of a fried food family, but perhaps we’ll go ahead for a fish fry or broasted chicken.
