The food was good. We tried the small combination plate, the smothered fries, and the steak pasta, which was a special not in the menu. The fries were huge and the price was less than $10. They were very good. The steak pasta at $16 was also exceptional, and unexpected for a mexican restaurant. The combination plate also tasted good, but nothing special.
Will I return again? Probably will.
To start off the chips and salsa were underwhelming. Salsa was salty, chips were stale and not great.
We all ordered water and it tasted like it came straight from the tap. Adding in a lemon made it better.
The food was mediocre at best. I personally think the food was better when it was La Luna, even though they have retained the same cooks…The chile verde was pretty spicy, it made my face and neck turn red. All the other food was again mediocre.
Service was fast, friendly, and good.
Don’t think we will go back, unfortunately.
Side note: I noticed employees are allowed to have their children there, which I completely understand — life is busy, and it’s wonderful when a workplace can also be a safe space for family.
That said, it was a bit distracting at times as the little ones (around ages 2–5) were left at a table unattended and got a bit loud, jumping on seats and then running around on the other side when the father was getting ready to leave. They were adorable, but it did take away from the atmosphere a bit.
Time and place are everything — and teaching little ones manners early on goes a long way. Still, overall, I’d definitely come back for the food and friendly service
When we got it, my fiancé and I both agreed it tasted like tomato paste of of the can with some water added to it to thin it out a bit. It was disgusting. I got a taco salad. There was almost no meat in it and the shell it was in was stale and had a really weird aftertaste.
My boyfriend got a steak fajita quesadilla and it was more peppers than steak. The steak was super chewy because of how many tendons were in each piece. We got two margaritas and I know it’s an Utah thing, but it’s still annoying, but we got syrup and water. We paid extra for one shot each for us to put in our drinks for it to taste like a margarita.
It was also very concerning how quickly our food was brought in. We ordered and not even a full 7 minutes later, we had the food and it wasn’t super hot, right off the grill.
All around, to claim this is “authentic Mexican food” is a slap in the face to people that pour their love into their food or care about providing at least acceptable food. $60 definitely not worth it.
We didn’t finish any of food. My fiancé asked for a box to go with his quesadilla to not cause a scene because he felt bad. We ended up going down the street to chilis. Utah needs to higher their standards because eating out anywhere here is ridiculous.
No thanks. Never again.
I would eat there again if my family wanted to go but it’s not a place I would go out of my way to get food from.
